I stayed at the Four Points for a long weekend in February while my girlfriend was visiting U of A. That said, we did not pay for the room and you know the saying "beggars can't be choosers". However I feel it is my duty to recount my experience here for my fellow travelers.
The best thing about this hotel is the location near U of A. Also, if you get a room above the third floor and on the north side (fronting Speedway) you will get an amazing view of the Catalina Mountains. There isn't much surface parking on the property, but there is a small garage underground. The property felt like it could use a little work, paint was chipping off the ceiling in some places and the drains were slow. The hotel is decorated in a pleasant local Southwestern flavor. Check in and Checkout was a breeze with competent staff. The "business center" (a desk with a computer by the concierge) was pretty inadequate for hotel marketing itself to business travelers, students, and meeting attendees. The Wi-Fi was spotty and was slow once you made a connection. All in all, not a bad hotel to stay in when visiting Tucson.

I stayed at this hotel for a meeting. I was checked into a room belonging to someone else which was a sign of the careless service that stains this hotel. I was quickly given another room, which was clean and comfortable, nothing exceptional but perfect for business travel. The rooms had free wireless which was a big plus.
The disorganized staff changed our meeting rooms twice over the 3 days we were there. Getting a cab or directions was a complicated chore for the staff. I didnt find the hotel to be noisy as others have described but it was crowded with college groups.
The location was good, near the University and lots of different shops and eateries withing walking distance and a mall a short cab ride away.

No reason to stay here

This place is blah inside and out. The rooms have decent beds, but that is the limit of their appealing qualitities. The doors let in all sort of hallway noise. Being so close to the university, there are usually student groups booked here so you can imagine how loud it gets.
I really regret booking here; I just wanted the Starwood points. Lesson learned.

In an effort to expand my hotel horizons (I usually stick to Holiday Inn and Marriott brands), I made a 2 night reservation in March 2008 for the Sheraton Four Points in Tucson, AZ.
Parking outside the hotel is rather limited, fortunately there is a small underground garage.
Check-in was not impressive. The lone desk clerk was very busy on the phone when I approached (~8PM) - he was arguing with someone who didn't want to pre-pay for their reservation. Eventually, he had time to assist me. I had reserved a King, non-smoking room, but those were sold out. I was given a 2-bed non-smoking room on the third floor. The hallway smelled of grilled food and (perhaps I'm being too critical here) could really use a makeover.
My room was dark and cold. The light switch next to the door powered a very dim light at the entryway. Overall, the room was nothing special - two beds of reasonable comfort, a desk, and a dresser with a television on top. The room was 'clean', but then again, I really didn't look too hard.
The most unsatisfactory aspect was encountered in the morning. The shower head was coated with hard water stains - not a good sign. Worse, the tub drained very slowly - I was ankle deep in water by the end of my shower. I detest that. Finally, the towels were old and worn.
The Four Points has a fitness room on the second floor - but after one look I decided not to bother: one treadmill, one bike, and a weightlifting station. Much to my bewilderment, drink vending and ice machines are only available on the 2nd and 7th floors.
All-in-all, it's not a *bad* place, but I won't be staying here again if I can help it. It would do in a pinch, but if you are the type that goes for comfort & a bit of luxury - this is *not* the place for you.

I was in a pinch and needed a place to stay and I chose the Four Points based on location. I was surprised how nice it was. We stayed during their busy season and the price was not too bad- $90 each night. I read the other reviews and was shocked. I thought it was a great place- the beds and pillows were fantastic, as was the shower. I was not disappointed until I went down for breakfast- skip the $9 breakfast buffet- not worth it. I'll definitely stay there again!
