We stayed 7 days at the hotel for a conference. Based on some earlier reviews, I was expecting the worst, but was pleasantly surprised. As others have said, the location is good, being above the train station, you can pretty much anywhere in the city in 15-20 minutes. Our room was in good condition, clean and fairly well maintained. Unlike other visitors, our AC was super efficient and we ended up turning it off at night. The staff was helpful and the cleaning staff were efficient and accommodating. There are not a lot of extras, but the breakfast buffet is lavish, especially the baked goods. The lunch buffet is good but over-priced.

We stayed here for the last night of our trip to Barcelona, in order to make a quick getaway to the airport the next morning. The proximity to the RENFE station is the main selling point, but the lobby is also promising. But as others have noted, the rooms leave a lot to be desired -- there's a distinct 1987 feel to them. The hair dryer might have been from 1977. But for what we needed, the place fit the bill ... and was worth the low cost.

Just spent 4 nights here and was impressed. The hotel is located directly over the main train/metro station so getting around is very easy. The train from the airport even stops here. Hotel itself is a modern business style hotel that while lacking in character it makes up in space. The lobby area is huge and has a bar and several eating areas including a fine dining restaurant. The rooms are spacious and clean and from our room on the 7th floor you had a great view out over the city. We ate in the hotel only twice once in the bar which was fine and once in the fine dining restaurant which was overly stuffy....they even served me a beer in a wine glass! All in its a fine hotel in a very convenient location for traveling around.

We stayed in the Barcelo sants for 7 nights and traveled all over the city and even outside of bcn. The hotel is great , the staff was super friendly and helpfull(especially a girl named sara), they even let us stay for extra hours before our flight back home for 10 euros per hour (the 1st hour was for free)-i never got this chance in other hotels in europe and always had to pay for a full of 1/2 day. The station under the hotel is excellent for tourists,there is a barcelona turisme office there, a cafetria, mac donalds,shops etc. the barcelona busturistic has a stop right in front of the hotel so we didnt have to go far to use this service. The room was nice, the bed was big and comfy. The only downside was the noise you could hear from the room near us or from the corridor- its a bit embarassing and can make you think you share the room and bed with others, but we got used to it.

I've been to Barcelo Sants Hotel in Barcelona (June 12-16). All services were average. Breakfast is good but waitresses urge you to leave the restaurant as quick as possible. All plates and cups are gone. They try to clean up the table even if you eat it. Also they run AC to cool down the restaurant so that you can not eat. Also, they tried to cheat me. I had a reservation for a double room for single use, few days before they upgraded my room type to double room at a higher rate. This was not what I wanted. and I had a fax confirmation for the previous room type. There was no chance for me since I was coming for a meeting where the venue was Barcelo Sants. It is not spacious, and there is no shelf to locate your belongings. Not comfortable. AC is off in rooms. A place to sleep? yes. Preferrable but you sometimes figure out that your hotel is built on a train station.
