We just loved this nice little hotel.
Location is excellent along Toulouse, halfway between Bourbon and Royal. Everything (bars, famous restaurants, shops) is within a couple blocks.
We stayed in Room 15 and had a sitting room on street side and bedroom on courtyard side. Bedroom had French doors that opened to courtyard. At night it was quiet for sleeping and in the late morning we would leave the doors open to listen to jazz music from the adjacent restaurant. Furnishings are basic but rustic and fit in well with the overall d?cor of the hotel as well as your location.
Customer service is okay. The staff is helpful as long as you ask, but don’t expect them to greet you or volunteer help.
You are paying for a nice room in an excellent location. This is a 3-star hotel and the service and furnishings are commensurate with its star rating. Don’t go expecting 5-star service and you won’t be disappointed.

Although the property is not up to date in every way, staying here is like living in the French Quarter of New Orleans. We loved the private courtyards, amazing pool, great service, etc. One of us did not love the noise at night, but of course, this is part of living in the Quarter! This is our 6th or 7th time in New Orleans, and our most intimate stay to date.

OK not terrific

The location is great - just off Bourbon street right in the French Quarter. And quiet enough though that you can sleep.
The staff were very friendly and personable.
Nice bed, thick towels and robes.
Beautiful courtyard and atmospheric hotel. You feel the history of the place.
Now for the minuses: We booked a courtyard room and got a room which opened out to a wall. The staff quickly changed our room when we notified them of this and we got a smaller room in the main house but which had a lovely balcony to the courtyard.
The room is fairly small and cramped though.
The bathroom was bigger, but the toilet didn't work. Every time you wanted to flush, you had to reach into the water tank and jiggle something. We first told the staff about it and they fixed it right away. The second time it happened, they didn't fix it and we had to reach into the water tank everytime we wanted to flush the toilet.
Also found stray hair in the bathtub.
I would say it's an OK place to stay, but probably wouldn't come back.
Best place to stay in New Orleans!

I've visited the Maison de Ville a few times and always had a wonderful experience. Staying at the main house or at the Audubon Cottages is one of the best parts of my trip to New Orleans. The friendly staff, beautiful architecture, lush courtyards and traditional New Orleans decor are perfect. I always recommend the Maison de Ville to friends and associates who are planning a visit to the crescent city and have been thanked by everyone who took the advise.

Although my stay was brief this time at the Maison Deville it was just as great as I expected and hoped for. My friends and I spend Lundi Gras in Room 15. The attic room was wonderful and very quiet. The balcony that overlooked the courtyard and French Quarter roofline was better than I expected. As usual the staff was wonderful (especially Vicky) and I am already planning my next visit. Thanks again to the whole staff!
