Fairmont Hotel Vancouver Wonderful, historic, convenient hotel, however we had a wooden crib with the slats that are unsafe for babies - it was unusable.

This is a very beautiful, grand and sophisticated property. The king standard room was spacious with wonderful details -- very nice peaceful colors. The bathroom looked recently updated and spotless. Quality toiletries and luxurious bed and bedding. Tea kettle in addition to coffee maker was a nice to have. Central location--shopping and restaurants in walking distance. Staff were wonderfully helpful. Well worth the price!

I am absolutely delighted by the Hotel Vancouver. Having just spent three nights at the Empress in Victoria, I must say the Hotel Vancouver is a MUCH better hotel than its sister Fairmont in Victoria! In fact, my recent stay at this hotel must rate as one of the best stays I've had in a while. Every staff I met was first rate. Service attitude was excellent and courteous. This includes front desk, concierge, restaurant (Griffins), doormen, etc. Had a corner Deluxe King on the 12th floor. VERY spacious room. Bathroom a bit smaller, but large enough. Room was very clean. Flat screen TV. Internet. Umbrella. Water kettle. Coffee maker. Bathrobes. And everything in working condition. Furniture/decor in classic style, but not worn. Well-maintained. Good security -- need card key to go up elevator. No electronic safe in room -- minor inconvenience but I wish I didn't have to go get a safe deposit box. Separate check-in for president's club members. I love the stay at the Vancouver. This will be my first choice when I return to the city. Well done, Fairmont!

We just got back from a long weekend at the Hotel Vancouver and can't rave enough about our stay. The hotel is located at the very heart of downtown Vancouver in a gorgeous old building that is a delightful antidote to the usual, modern (read: bland) downtown hotel towers. The service and staff were first-rate. The concierge gave us several helpful recommendations and housekeeping did a great job cleaning our room and even refreshing our room in the evening. Being a historical hotel, the bathrooms aren't as large or luxurious as we have come to expect from modern hotels, but all the charms of the property more than make up for it. I couldn't recommend the hotel more. You won't be disappointed.

I recently stayed at the Fairmont Hotel in downtown Vancouver for a conference I was attending. The service and location were excellent, however the room itself was only slightly above average. Also, when I arrived on time at check-in, my room was not ready. The beds and bathroom were fine, although the bathroom was not quite as clean as one would expect from a 5-star hotel. The iron in the room was broken. My biggest complaint was the noise level I could hear from adjoining rooms and the hallway. At night I would hear my neighbors talking, and doors closing nearby. I guess I expected more peace and quite in the room, and was disappointed with that. The hotel service and staff were pleasant, and were very helpful at all times. I found Vancouver to be an expensive city, and the hotel was no different. Service fees were attached to almost everything, but I knew that going in. Overall, it was a nice hotel, but I have stayed at much better, less expensive, hotels.
