Convenient location was the only positive:
No elevator to second floor (great if you have heavy luggage!)
Housekeeping an F: some prior guest's toenail clippings on the floor between the beds (pretty disgusting)
"Fresh" towels came with unknown adhering substances and stains
Rooms were smallest I've ever stayed in

Stayed here for 2 nights while on a visit to Boca, when we got off 95 and I saw the other property I thought it looked great, only problem was that we were booked in the HIE a few miles away. First off, there are no elevators so you have to trudge up 2 flights of stairs with your luggage. The hallway smelled so bad and there were humidifiers going in the hall. There was old chinese food in the hallway adding to the stench. The rooms were clean. The hotel is in the middle of a shopping center with nail salons and other tacky stores. The staff does their best to be helpful. They do have the express breakfast but we decided to skip it because it didnt look that great. The hallway smell was the worst. It was that sickening smell like when you are trying to cover something up.

Worst Holiday Inn Express, I have ever stayed at!

I reserved 8 rooms for 14 nights at the Holiday Inn Express in Boca, Raton. They put us in a wing of rooms that is not visible in any photo on this website or the Holiday-Inn website. It seems as if it was a no-tell motel that they bought out and added on. It is 2 stories with no elveator for luggage and is very MUSTY, they had 3 de-humidifiers running in the hallway for the entire stay. I stayed in the room for the first 4 nights but had to move due to my allergies.
Also when I reserved the 8 rooms I asked about refrigerators, they told me they had 5. When we arrived on site and checked in, I inquired as I was instructed about the frig's. I was told they had some available for $35 dollars a week, which was never covered during the call to make the coversation. When I approached the manager about this, she apologized and told me should would comp one for us which was never delivered.
I also inquired at the desk when checking in, since we were working overnights I also asked if we could work out a cleaning schedule of some sort, rotating the rooms to be cleaned every other day or third day. The desk attendant told me that they couldn't do that but then told me they had to get into the room every 3 days. I told them if they couldn't prioritize or schedule it out that would be impossible as we are sleeping in the middle of the afternoon. He then told me just to put the do not distrubs up and they wouldn't bother us, we went through this scenario litterally 3 times like a bad Abbot and Costello, whose on first routine.
The manager that made the ressies promised me this would happen, she made a schedule and gave me a copy. The schedule was ahered too about 30% of the time after they missed the first 3 days of it.
I also just checked my point balance, and they credited me for 1 room instead of the 8 paid for, per the priority club rules, I should receive up to 10 rooms worth of points. I wouldn't stay at this place again for $50 a night much less the $120-$160 a night they were asking.
If you can get a new holiday inn express or one that has been recently renovated, they are usually hard to beat, this one is a strong exception to that rule.

Marios Bocca moved into the Holiday Inn...and what a wonderful place. The lunch buffett was around $10.00 and every entry and dessert was terrific.....with many other selections on a regular menu.
Kings Gourmet on N. Military Trail---a block from the Holiday In---is an excellent Italian grocery store and delly...with in-store bakery, kobe beef, and peppers that actually smell good.
The pool in the center Holiday courtyard is close to a huge fountain....very relaxing.
That said....there were some problems.....
1. My door key didn't work the first time and the second time no keys would open the door and they had to get maintenance to open it.....not reassuring when you have a meeting coming up.
2. I asked for a quiet room and got one two doors away from a meeting room....8:00 - 4:00 pm meeting times.
3. The shower is not hot enough....at first I thought it was the shower control which spun about...but that wasn't the problem.
So......friendly front desk and great restaurant and pool...but some issues that made my stay just average.

This was an average hotel. It was fairly old and was showing it's age. I would rate this hotel as a 2 star. It was acceptable and breakfast was good (a typical Holiday Inn Express breakfast) but other than that, it was nothing special. Wireless internet was free.
I will probably look for a nicer hotel next time I'm in the area
