Hotel was an overnight stop from Switzerland to the Channel. Finding it was not easy, but the satnav didn't foresee the roadworks affecting the immediate area. Booked a deluxe room, given this on the top floor. Room was black wood panelling with dark wall finishes, making it really gloomy. Curtains did not fully close, and no pelmet meant the light streamed into the room early in the morning. The bed was a standard size [felt like a foam mattress on a slatted base - initially ok but quickly became uncomfortable], despite the large space available. Bathroom had a plastic Villeroy & Bosch bath and Grohe bath and shower fittings - all contemporary, but the sealing disc in the drain needed to be prised out of the drain, no mean feat with a bath full of water; the evening maid was very helpful, but language got in the way! The toilet was the other side of the bedroom to the bathroom, with no washbasin, meaning a trek each time you wished to wash your hands.
Views were minimal, but the hotel is located bang in the centre of town, so not much was expected.
A small bottle of liqueur and little boxes of fudge were complimentary.
Bed linen and towels were nice, clean and fresh, and the room was clean, although the windows could have done with a polish [a bit unfair, as the weather had been windy and wet]
Breakfast was meagre, with the service abysmal. A conference was due, and most of the seats were set up for this. The coffee was brown liquid, with no taste, and the hot milk seemed measured by the thimbleful. French croissants were tiny and tasted stale, but the jam was excellent.
Overall, rather disappointed in the value for money, but, given it was predominantly geared at business and diplomatics [car park stacked with diplomatic plated cars] not a bad choice for those passing through.

This was just an overnight stay on our way down to Italy - best hotel in Metz but modern and no character. However, rooms are fine, clean and spacious. Breakfast was not good - seems an hotel more for the business traveller.

I loved this hotel. The staff was wonderful, the lobby was really nice, and our room was spacious, clean and modern with a charming old world feel. We had breakfast delivered to our room the next morning and it was great.
There was just one thing—a queen size bed. My husband is 6’3”, so that didn’t leave much room for me! We are used to a king size bed. Other than that, it was great.
The bathroom was really nice, and well equipped. I would stay again, but would make sure to get a different bed set up. Metz was a fun little city to walk around and an easy walk from the hotel to the city center.

A magnificent building near the centre of Metz. a town full of interesting historical buildings, and plenty of shops in a pedestrian zone, including a Gallerie Lafayette - although not like its relation in Paris. The hotel staff throughout where delightful and most helpful with me in my whleechair. The room was elegant and comfortable as was the bathroom. restaurant closed on a Monday but the staff booked us into a near by restaurant. We would definitely return.

The best hotel we've stayed at in Metz after at least 10 overnight stays. Very quiet. Comfortable bed. Reasonably well-equipped. Very nice, polite, and courteous staff and service, despite our pathetic command of the French language. Nonetheless, there were remarkable negatives. One being, the open design of the tub/shower was baffling to me. (This is more their problem than mine.) I ended up having at least 1 gallon of water on the floor...and I was being careful. I've experienced many open shower designs, but this one was not designed to fit the bathroom as it is now. Another being, the temperature control for the whole hotel was out-of-whack. The hallway was at least 90 degrees. We had to open the 10" wide bedroom window and turn on the air conditioning the entire night on the March 1st to keep the room comfortable.
