Myself and about 20 colleagues arecurrently staying there, to attend a convention in Aix. We sampled an array of rooms, and all come to the same conclusion. Don't even stay slose to this place. Looks ok from the outside. The lobby has been refurbished, and would induce that this a an updated mid-range hotel, would not it be for a reeking smell of bleachy fish. The room is dates back to the 80s. Awful. No aircon. Don't even think to open you windows, even staying in the upper floor. Once the folks have finished drinking at the caf? on the opposite side of the street, you will grab a couple hours sleep, and then be awakened to the noise of traffic. The bed id good, though. The cleaning staff is in dire need of thorough training. I would not dare walking barefoot on the carpet, and am glad I brought some sleepers. One of my colleagues found a leftover pizza (?!?) in the cupboard. Make yourself a favor and stay anywhere else, like Novotel or something similar.

We stayed in this hotel in May 2007 and had no complaints whatsoever. The staff were friendly and helpful, the parking was safe and reasonable and the room was clean and pleasant. Aix-les-Bains itself is a wonderful town. There is a warm atmosphere and laid back attitude. Both the town centre and the lake are extremely pretty. I look forward to returning to the town and the Agrora again in the future.
