We were robbed while asleep.

We were robbed of our money and jewelry while we were asleep. Someone entered the room with an electronic key and took approximately $1650 worth of money and jewelry. There was no chain lock on the door and we discovered too late that the security bolt lock opens with the regular lock. The hotel refused to call the police and refused to accept that any employee had entered our room. We arrived late and never left our room prior to the discovery of the theft in the morning. Unfortunately we had to depart early in the morning and were unable to go to the police department to file a report. This robber was clever enough to not take passports as that would have necessitated a police report. It was obviously an inside job and I would NEVER suggest anyone stay at this place.

This is not a great hotel. They tout themselves as business hotel but dont provide the service. many minor annoyances. They put me in a tiny room, then reluctantly moved me zhen i asked to a room that reaked of smoke. lots of small defects in the rooms because they are not zell maintained have a restaurant that is not open on weekends. the atrium is very cold and feels like an alley betzeen buldings the manager is swarmy.

My friends and I spent two days in Lyon and stayed over for a night. Not knowing much about Lyon, we picked this hotel since our web research suggested it was in a safe part of the city.
When we arrived in Lyon, it was quite far from the train station so if you have lots of luggage, take a cab if you can. The hotel staff wasn't all too friendly so we simply checked in and got to our home for the night. And indeed it felt like home. I liked the fact that there was a living room area complete with couch & tv and a small kichenette downstairs (not for cooking, just a microwave and sink and there may have been a mini fridge). When you walked up the stairs, there were two bedrooms, one without a door and one that can be enclosed.
The best part were the furnishings which I found quite contemporary. This is a place that I would call a home away from home. Sadly I was here for one night but it would be great for business travelers who have extended stays.

This was the second part of a football journey for 8 friends. We had booked 3 suites with 3 double beds each in them and on arrival at hotel, first impressions were really good.
Lovely reception and dining area set in the Hotel Atrium. Reception was ok and we were given one of our rooms right away to put bags in.
First thing we noticed in the room was the smell. Kind of damp smell in all areas though it has to be said the room sizes in our suites was big. Downstairs kitchen, bathroom, shower, dining table and living area with 2 bedrooms upstairs though only one is in a closed area.
Once we had the other 2 rooms, they were the exact same. Decent size but smelly. You could do a lot worse than stay here and maybe the smaller rooms are without smell.
Lyon didnt impress me as a city at all.
Not great, not horrible

Room: We stayed in a 2BR suite which was large by European standards.
The kitchen had locked cabinets and no cooking utensils but there is a fridge and microwave. There was a hot water machine and packet of instant coffee but no coffee maker. The beds are platform style with very thin, hard mattresses. The toilet was not clean (looked like someone had urinated on the seat and on the floor next to the toilet). The shower is only semi-enclosed so you can't take a regular
shower. There are no washcloths or facial tissue provided. There is a hairdryer. There is free internet access and they will provide a US-France electric outlet adapter at the desk if you ask.
Location: This is NOT a tourist hotel. It is meant for French businessmen so it is in a business area of town. There are no restaurants close by but the Part Dieu metro/train/bus station is only a 10 minute walk away. You can get a quick meal there or catch the metro to somewhere else.
Desk: The reception people were all polite to us. People in Lyon in general do not speak fluent English but they did fine. They are not concierges (again, it's geared toward business travellers).
Overall: It's not a great place to stay for a vacation but if you book late (like we did) and can't get in somewhere else it's serviceable.
