Very unhappy!

The hotel boasts of its "soundproofed rooms" - but this did little to drown out the tortuous drilling, banging and alarms going off from 0930 in the morning.
Admittedly, this is not VERY early but the point of a spa is to be able to relax, have a swim, take your time.
What was more infuriating however was the attitude at reception. When I asked why this work could not be done in the afternoon, the girl merely said they wanted to change the locks on the upper floors and the work had to be done quickly (or they would lose business).
So the comfort of guests comes second to profits!! Very angry. No attempt was even made to make up for the disturbance.
Hotel also boasts of being a 5 minute drive from the centre of town. In a Ferrari at 2am perhaps - otherwise it's more like 15 minutes in a cab. There is nothing else around.

I loved this hotel. It was quite hard to find by car the first time, and it is not in the heart of the city, but, who cares! Hotel is by the Saone river, with a nice view of it from my room. Room was large and well equiped, with a bathrobe very useful in the magnificient outdoors spa. Hotelis nicknamed "Lyon plage", Lyon beach, and atmosphere was to confirm this nickname.
I was in Lyon for a trade fair, not a pleasure trip at all, but hotel allows to relax after a hard business day.
Wifi was ok and allowed some skype videoconference to see family at home. Restaurant offered good food and, with a car, city center was ten minutes far. Parking was free inside hotel premises or in a close open lot. A underground paid parking could be hired at reception desk.
Not as good as it looked online

The pictures on the website looked really well and it gave the hotel a nice feel. When getting there, it was disappointing as the rooms, which have been done up in the last couple of years, look old fashionned and the air conditionning, which is central, made the rooms pretty cold. The staff at reception were nice as well as the main barman, but the service at breakfast was lacking at the week-end, staff not happy, only few clean tables outside, little refills of the breakfast table, so had to wait to get enough!
Overall there were a handful of nice staff there.
This hotel is ok, but not a 4 star quality and the information given on the site is misleading. It looked like a great getaway for the week-end, but not worth it really, as it is very far from the town, altough the brochure says minutes walk to the centre, it took 10 minutes by car, so we had to use taxis all the time.
The restaurant had a limited menu which doesn't change, so eating out is a must unless you stay one night.
One night the bar was closed because the barman was sick, not great! Also in the evening, only 2 staff on, so you see the barman running to reception if someone comes.
The first night, they had given us the wrong room without the correct beds and when leaving they overcharged me twice for a few nights, so I had to wait 40 minutes at reception while the manager tried to sort it out!
When asking about Wifi access, they said it worked at the reception and bar area only, so I tried to connect, but they forgot to mention it wasn't free, at €5 per 30 minutes!
After speaking to some of the staff, they admitted that the hotel is really known because of the spa area, which by the way is nice but not amazing! If this is the largest spa in France, well the French should go abroad and see what a real spa looks like!
The room was very clean and it seemed that the room cleaner was the only person paying attention to detail in this hotel!
I would not stay there again, because of location and comfort, but mostly because it was a 3 star level and you get nice 3 star hotels in the centre of Lyon!
