We stayed at this hotel with a 1 year old baby for 6 nights and felt it gave us excellent value for money. The location is fantastic; you can easily walk to the Louvre, along the Seine and to Notre Dame. It is very central for different metro and RER lines (direct to Disney from Auber). More importantly, the staff were lovely and very accommodating.
The rooms are basic but the bathroom was large and very clean. I felt the housekeeping and waiting staff excelled themselves during our stay. The travel cot our baby slept in looked brand new and the bedding was spotless. Anything we requested was given to us with a smile. A great base to see Paris.

We just got back from spending 4 days at this Hotel, or should I say Bed and Breakfast in Paris. Did not know anything about the area and was booked via AAA and TravelBound.
This is a quaint 5 story building on one of the side streets in the Opera region. You are just 5 minutes walk from two of the main thoroughfairs. You are a 20 minute walk from the Louvre.
When you show up at the hotel, there is one person there to check you in. The lobby is nearly non-existent. You need to carry your luggage up to your floor. There is one very small and poorly lit winding staircase. There is a tiny old fashion elevator that holds at most 3 people in a cramped fashion. It has the appearance of a bird cage, and you may have seen these in the old Alfred Hitchcock movies.
This is a very authentic setting where the staff speak only french, and very minimal English.
We had a quadruple room which had two twin beds and a double bed in two small rooms. There was no air conditioning, nor were there any screene or safety bars on the windows. We were on the 4th floor.
The bathrooms were clean and seemed to have been relatively recently upgraded.
There is no wi-fi except what you can pick up from surrounding systems. I don't think the hotel has one. Rooms do have a simple television with english CNN, MTV, and french stations.
The included daily breakfast was quite good. It was french pastries, coffee/tea/hot chocolate and orange juice. There was no restaurant in the hotel. There were several restaurants in close proxmity. In fact, there was a bar just next to the hotel. It was very noisy as the bar was quite busy and many of the custormers would overflow in to the street. With open windows (there is no air conditioning) it was quite raucously noisy.
If you choose to stay at this place, I would book over the internet on your own. The advertised price was about $30-40 less than what I paid. There is some "surcharge" from travel agencies.
Very quaint but rather limited in resources. This is not like your typical US hotel.

We were not able to get into our usual hotel this trip but we love the area and so had to find another one close by. After reading previous reviews I was not sure what to expect upon arrival at this hotel. I must say we were pleasantly suprised. We stayed 6 nights and do not have a bad word to say about it. Sure the hotel is old, the furnishings a little shabby and no shower curtain in the bath, but it was very clean, the staff extremely helpful & friendly (& patient with us limited French speaking Aussies) and by Paris standards the bathroom was huge! We had a triple share room and it was also larger than I expected it to be. Breakfast pastries were fresh & plentiful & served with a smile. As far as sex shops go, unless you were specifically looking you wouldn't even notice they were there. I would definitely stay here again and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to other budget travellers.

After reading the reviews I was a little apprehensive as to what I had let myself in for. I should never have worried. The hotel was clean - warm (december break) and the staff helpful and friendly. View left a bit to be desired but then again who goes to paris to look out the window. It's within walking distance of almost every major attraction. The street it's on is quiet (ok a few sex shops nearby but I certainly did not see anything happening) and this was perfect for us after the hussle and bussle of "paris central". We were a few blocks away from the champs elysee - about a 5 minute stroll. Taxis everywhere as well as cuddling couples awww!! What a romantic city. Breakfast was authentic and service was good. The people we spoke to were all very friendly and didn't mind that we knew no french what-so-ever apart from the usual basics of hello, thank you and goodbye. If I was to go back to Paris I would definitely stay here again, the cost of the rooms considering how central the hotel is, screams BARGAIN!!!

I was a bit wary about staying in this hotel after reading the reviews but pleasantly surprised. The hotel is on a quiet street, and there are a few sex shops a few doors away, but we certainly never saw anything out of the ordinary. It is only minutes from the main shopping area and from the bus stop which runs the Roussy Bus direct to and from Charles de Gaulle Airport.
The staff were always helpful and friendly, the hotel was clean and tidy, the room was a wee bit on the small side, but very clean as was the bathroom. The decor was maybe not what us Brits would expect, but my husband and I felt we certainly got value for money. The breakfast was fine too.
