Amazing hotel. We loved it!!!! Newly remodeled. Most gorgeous hotel that we have seen. One woman cares for all of the LIVING plants in the atrium. It is a breath taking site. Great staff from check-in to security to shuttle driver to check-out. Dan at the front desk knew the area well and advised us on things to do. Also, he knew which resturant we were searching for which we had eaten at two years before. Bucca De Palo ??? , An italian eatery in a huge basement on the Plaza. Best Italian food and service one could ever wish for. Super nice pool with two levels, a hot tub, steam room and sauna. Newly remodeled work-out facility with all new machines which include cardio theatre. Loved our stay and will stay there next time. Have already referred it to friends!!!!!

I will start by saying I am a little picky, so I should have heeded some of the comments on the reviews before I went. But we have never stayed at an Embassy Suites with problems, so we tried it anyway. The hotel itself is very pretty, but when we walked into our room, it was very damp. The carpet and top spread on the bed felt like there was dew on it. Several items in the room were not in working order especially all of the outlets which would not hold our plugs. They kept falling out. Strange. The bathroom was open into the bedroom. The bed was literally across from the sink. Outside of the room, the elevators were a nightmare. We had to wait at least 10 minutes for an open elevator and then it would stop on almost every floor. This wasn't even the weekend yet! Breakfast was chaotic. It was so crowded that you had to wait in line for everything, even coffee and although the choice of food was good, they kept running out of everything so it was very hit or miss. The first night the happy hour was very nice with nachos for the snack and real glasses for the drinks. The second night you would have thought you were in another hotel. Small plastic cups for the drinks with half the offerings of drink choices from the night before. They were out of snacks and no one was cleaning any of the tables off. The work out room was closed for repairs. I can say that room service was better than expected. So if you dare to try this hotel, check out the french onion soup and cheesecake with room service. You won't be disappointed there. As for the problems, I can only guess that they do not have enough staff or room for the amount of people staying at the hotel. They also need another set of elevators. Would I stay here again? No way! I will try a hotel closer to the Plaza shopping center next time.

We are frequent embassy suites guests, about three times a year for 20 years. $169 a night seemed a little high for Kansas City, and was too high for the quality of our stay. The A/C heating system was very loud while running, so we eventually just shut it off on our third night to avoid having it wake us up.
The hotel didn't seem able to handle the number of guests it had: long waits at the sole elevator bank; a line of about 30 people for the complimentary drink; long waits at the breakfast bar; a pool/hottub with at least 25 people in it every time we looked (about 3 times a day over 4 days). We were not used to having to give a ticket for a free drink - we were provided one free drink ticket for each day - no more. The advertising should say "complimentary beverage" (meaning only one) not "manager's reception." But the lines were so long that we didn't use all of the tickets anyway.
The pool was quite chilly, but heavily used nonetheless. The hottub was warmer after we asked the temperature to be checked - but then it always had at least 5 children screaming and playing in it (even at 9 am!) We can't blame the kids, though, as the pool water was really bracing. They must be used to this problem, as they have a written policy of booting the kids out during the last 2 hours of operation (9-11pm) but they didn't follow it.
Positives: big pool area; very responsive staff at breakfast, beverage service, and front desk; facilities were in decent shape.

I booked 9 rooms at this hotel for a volleyball tournament. I chose it because it has a nice pool and common area, complimentary parking and complimentary breakfast, and is less than ten minutes from the convention center. It was fabulous. While I had a few problems with reservations dropping some of my rooms, the sales staff helped fix the problem, and the desk staff preassigned our rooms to be together.
The rooms were very nice and very clean. We spent the majority of our time, however, in the pool or lobby area. Well, the girls spent the majority of their time in the pool, while the parents hung out in the lobby/bar area. The manager reception, read "complimentary happy hour", for guests was nice.
All in all, it was a great choice for my group.

I like the Embassy Suites in general. This one is a bit funny looking as the architectural style (supposed to be italian) just ends up looking odd.
Every member of the staff I met was very friendly and helpful. The shuttle service was great for going to nearby restaurants and they came back to pick us up. Incredibly easy and friendly. The staff cleaning up after breakfast was also friendly and even brought me another cup of coffee.
I have been at other Embassy Suites with a better breakfast buffet. They could have a bigger selection of cereals and breads for example. Most Embassy Suites have peanut butter and yogurts. Not this one. Other Embassy Suites have Starbucks coffees. Again, not this one.
The suites are large and very clean. Bed was comfortable. I was on the top floor and my room was quiet (exept for the heat).
