This was our 3rd visit to the hotel. Love the location in downtown Indy - connected to the mall and walking distance to most everything.
The previous 2 visits (2004 & 2006) were pretty average. This experience was different from the moment we pulled up. The employee at the front door came right out and held the door for us and directed us to the front desk. We were checked in by Brandon, who asked us our reason for visiting. We told him it was a little get-away for our 25th anniversary. Got to our room which is a typical Embassy Suites room - a little dated - but overall nice and clean. Upon returning from dinner out, arrived in our room to find a bottle of champagne, a plate of strawberries and whipped cream and a very nice hand written card from Brandon wishing us a very happy anniversary! It was such a wonderful surprise and gesture.
The rest of the visit was just as nice. Every employee we encountered was very friendly and seemed genuinely interested in helping us. Breakfast and Happy Hour were very good also.
It really seems like they either have new management (since 2006) or they have had additional training on customer service. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

We stayed at this resort on a three day field trip. It was a great experience of Indianapolis. The resort was right downtown, which gave us a breath taking view.
The bright atrium welcomed us to the resort. The staff was very helpful.
The suite we stayed in was awesome! It had a living room and a bedroom. The bedroom had two queen beds and a dresser. The room also had a nice t.v. and table. The living room had a t.v. with a key board connection. It had a couch that pulled out to a bed. Also it had a mini fridge and a microwave.
The bathroom was nice and clean with a double sink and shower/tub.
The breakfast is great and was the cleanest buffet I have ever ate at. It had a great variety of eggs, pancakes, waffles; danish, and cereal. It also had great coffee.
The location was just great! walking distance to monument circle, the capitol, shops and famous resturants. Also for the shoppers, there is a mall attached to Embassy suites!
I recemend this resort to anyone. Hope you choose here, because I want you to have the same amount of fun we had.

i was very impressed with the embassy suites downtown. the front desk staff were very friendly. i traveled alone to attend a conference but i got a king suite which was more than enough space for me. i think 4 people (as long as they dont mind sharing the bed and 1 bathroom) can comfortably stay in the room. there was a pullout sofa bed in the 1st room/living room? with a separate tv from the bedroom. there was a door to separate the 2 rooms and offer some privacy if it was a group of people.
one of the nice perks i enjoyed was the free manager's reception at 530pm for drinks and snacks and the free hot breakfast, more than your usual bagels and cereal breakfast that you get in motels/inns.
im planning to go back this summer to visit indy again (since i did not get to see a lot of places in the city because i was pretty impressed already with the stuff to do downtown). i am considering staying at this hotel again.

We stayed at this hotel as a family to visit the Indy Childrens Mueseum. The rooms were OK, but as others have noted, very dated. The biggest issue was the hotel was not staffed to handle the number of guests. The pool had no towels and was very dirtly since it is so small compared to the number of kids. And breakfast was a crazy ... no silverware, no milk, limited selection on the break bar. And if you wanted a cooked item, it was at least a 20 min + wait. Our kids always look forward to breakfast when we stay at an Embassy, but not in this case. And finally, the security staff handled it, but there was a significant amount of noise at around midnight that took about 20-30 mins to return to quiet. With the open design of this hotel, everyone got to hear it. Again, not what you expect when you pay Embassy rates.

The room was clean, the staff was friendly, and the breakfast was good. But, don't stay here if you are afraid of heights. The space above the lobby is open to the top of the building, and you can see all 20 floors of balcony on all four sides of the building. All rooms open onto a 4 or 5 foot wide balcony. Don't look down.
