The Embassy Suites chain has always been one of our favorites, and that included the El Paso hotel.....until our recent stay. We were accosted by an unpleasant odor the moment we opened the door to our room. We called the desk and requested another room. They promptly and nicely accommodated us, unfortunately, the new room had the same smell and the refrigerator was broken and leaking all over the floor. We opted for the first room. The entire facility was showing signs of age, and we were shocked to discover that the renovations were complete. The beds were small, the large window in the bedroom leaked so we were warm all night and slept poorly. The breakfast was as good as ever, unfortunately, due to the other unpleasantries, we will not stay at that particular Embassy Suites again unless they conduct a true renovation of all of the suites.

I absolutley loved this hotel! They offer more than any hotel I've ever stayed at. Checkin was fast and the staff was wonderful. They even have free cocktails and beer EVERYDAY in the afternoon. Thats what sold me on it! Also a full breakfast in the morning. The room was huge and beautiful. I liked that they still had smoking rooms and that they were confined to one floor. They're shuttle even took me and picked me up from nearby restaurants and back to the airport for my plane home. Room service is pricey but delicious and gift shop is open 24 hours..but other than that it was a perfect stay!I will definitly book rooms here from now on. First experience was wonderful!!!

At first glance the place looked wonderful. They are finishing up some updates but we did not mind the construction. The free drinks in the afternoon were wonderful and the complimentary breakfast was amazing. However, when traveling with two small children you need a pool. When I called to make reservations I specifically asked if the pool was open and was assured that it was. However the second day we were there the pool remained closed until 8 pm for "cleaning". Also according to the guest book drinks are available until 10 pm which they were not and room service is available till 11 which it was not. I try to be open minded but don't feel like I got my moneys worth.

Newly Renovated

The hotel was in the process of completing a major renovation during our stay. Our suite was newly painted and carpeted in a southwest d?cor, and the furniture, mattress and bedding were brand-new. The bathroom was very tiny with just a toilet and tub. The sink and vanity were located in the bedroom, which was a little inconvenient. There was a flat-screen tv in the bedroom, but just a regular one in the bedroom. The choice of tv channels left a lot to be desired, but that seems to be the case in every other Embassy Suites that I have stayed at. Staff members were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was about average. The business center had two computers, and there was a kiosk near the front desk where you could print out your airline boarding pass. The fitness room had three treadmills, two ellipticals, and an exercise bike. We didn’t use the pool, but we were able to see it from the lobby and it looked very nice.

Nothing for a Diamond!

I checked in as a DIAMOND - there no upgrades given - nothing to upgrade to. I also had reserved a King Bed for a 2 week stay, I was given a double in the renovated side, although I couldn't tell it was renovated. Each day I found cock roaches in the sinks and tub, some 2 inches long. At the end of the first week I went to do laundry spent three hours trying to dry clothes (never did Dry) hung them on the balcony over night (bet that looked nice). Every floor has a broken ice machine and the areas are full of trash and not renovation trash! Sat monring checked out a week early and checked back into the Hampton Inn where I normally stay when in El Paso. They really take care of you there!!! Oh I also cancelled my stay there the next 2 weeks also. The managers called me Sat afternoon and begged for me to come back but I stood firm in my expectations.
