Worst Embassy Suites in the U.S.A.

This is by far the worst Embassy Suites in the continental United States.
We have frequented this chain of hotels over the years, but the Corpus Christi location wins titles for the dirtiest, most unsanitary, most infested, loudest, most unsafe, most crowded and most unconfortable hotel in the land.
At $120/night it was definately not worth the money.
Weve stayed at interstate motels that were slightly better than the Embassy Suites Corpus Christi and for only 1/3 of the price.
We complained to the manager about several things (i.e missing morning newspapers, mold in the bathroom and A/C vents, dirty sheets, foul smells, and old and unsanitary carpet), and ultimately received a 25% discount for our stay.
Embassy Suites HQ should visit these facilities to see the mahem for themselves.

Don't give this place a second thought....

Upon entering our non smoking room, behind the bar- needless to say we might as well have been in a smoking room with a chain smoker. When we closed our door, a french door with windows, the door closed tightly but on the other side there was about a 1/2 inch gap that was open to the free world, sounds smells we were not happy especially when there wasn't another room. While there were heavy curtains on the door you could close to give you privacy from everyone walking by your room the curtains in the room facing the back parking lot and other hotel we had a 2 inch gap where the curtains wouldn't close. We rigged something up so everyone couldn't watch our every move. I would strongly suggest getting a safe deposit box! We had went out and I left my purse in the dressing cabinet under the suitcaes. I had $30 missing from my wallet the next morning. A small amount but it infuriated me that it was in an envelope in my purse I felt totally violated that someone had been going through my stuff. The breakfast buffet started out nice when I had went up to get something for my kids, pancakes and omelettes. When I went to sit with them my husband went to stand in line for 20 minutes, he was skipped then told he would need to go to the back of the line to wait his turn- needless to say he was infuriated and we pretty much went back to the room to get our things to check out. After waiting to see the manager for 15 minutes the coward never appeared and we left in a pissy mood! Never Again- would I reccommend this place to anyone...
Have stayed here many times, getting better, but not great

I stay at Embassy Suites alot. I have stayed at this one maybe 4 or 5 times in the last 2-3 years.
The hotel is getting better. The time before this stay the room was horrible. Torn drapes, torn bedding, torn pillows, nasty carpet, nasty sofa. I called the hotel manager this trip who came up with several people and saw the condition of the room and she stated that they would remodel it after I checked out. Never said they were sorry, never offered to switch rooms, just, the next person will have it nicer than you do...
This trip the room was better with three exceptions. Torn drapes, the AC did not cool well at all, and there is some device that is supposed to be a smoke alarm, but it goes off from things like, spray deoderant... We had to listen to it for 10 minutes of so until a hotel worker came and removed it from the room. He said they always have problems with them going off like that.
Parking was limited and while we did not have any problems, the parking lot did not make me feel safe leaving my vehicle down there...
Also, this hotel used to have a breakfast buffet like Lubbock and some other Embassy Suites have, which was really nice, now they did away with it and you have to stand in line for 10-15 minutes to order your food...
When checking out I was asked if everything was ok and I said not really and handed the girl a comment card that I had filled out and she said thank you, and never even looked at it. I left without anyone addressing my concerns. I had stopped staying here after my previous visit and have stayed at the Omni Bayfront and Marina but decided to give the hotel another try because I am a HHonors member. The hotel is better than last year, but still needs work to be done.

I am staying at the Embassy Suites for a couple of weeks for work. The rooms are very spacious, great breakfast in the morning (made to order) and a nice happy hour in the evening. Beds are comfortable and rooms are quiet. The staff is very friendly and accomodating. The hotel is near restaurants and shopping. The shuttle will take you anywhere within a 5 mile radius, which includes a mall and several restaurants. There are adequate work out facilities and a laundry room for guests who are on an extended stay.
I would stay here again.

Renovations
Guest name: elaguilar, San antonio TX
I was very disappointed in the stay at the Embassy Suites, upon arrival I noticed that the hotel was being renovated. While walking to our room my 4 yr old daughter tripped and feel on some plastic that was outside a room.(the room was being painted) I also had a problem with the blow dryer in the room, I had to call the front desk early in the morning to request one (the blow dryer in the room was broken) I complained to the front desk and they told me that they were sorry for the inconvience of the renovations. I asked why it was never mentioned on the website and when I called the Embassy Suites Toll-Free number they didn't know that the hotel was being renovated. I only stayed one day and found another hotel in the area. What really suprised me about this hotel was that no one from Management contact me after the various compliants. I feel that when a customer has any type of problems, Management should get involved.
