Stayed for three nights in July with my daughter. Embassy Suites was not originally our first choice but we are glad the plans worked out as they did. The hotel is very nice especially the atrium area. The rooms are large, the beds were comfortable and we had no problems with the air conditioning that some had noted. The bathroom was small but we didn't find it a problem. I thought the hotel was a great value for the price considering the size of the room, the hot breakfast in the morning and the manager's reception in the early evening. Having the suite meant that we could relax and spread out after a day visiting the area. There are many restaurants nearby: Outback, Carabbas, Zio's Italian Kitchen to name a few. The hotel was crowded but we never failed to find a parking spot. The hotel suited our needs perfectly and I would not hesitate to stay there again. The only negatives are that it is located about 10 minutes north of Colorado Springs (downtown) , further from most of the attractions which are more south and the hotel is located right on the highway and there is some road noise at night. Neither of these factors however would prevent me from staying again.

We took a minivacation to Colorado Springs and stayed in the Embassy Suites. It was the only hotel in the area with balconies and our room on the south side had a lovely view. As with all Embassy Suites, they had an indoor pool and hot tub and complementary cocktails and breakfast. The atrium was beautiful and very tropical feeling. There are plenty of elevators to get to the room from the lobby or the pool. The bad parts were:
Very small towels in the pool area.
Small gouge in the marble? shower surround.
Nachos only for the cocktail reception.
Breakfast buffet was good with omelets, However, even though it was a Saturday and the buffet was supposed to go until 10:30AM, the hot items were removed at 9:30AM.
Nice bench to sit on outside for a smoke, but no ashtray near it.
We would definitely stay again!

Excellent place. Kids enjoyed thoroughly. Atrium and Breakfast area is one of the best I have ever stayed. Breakfast makes you feel like a king. Very nice place to relax and enjoy your colorado vacation. Friendly and informed staff.
Caution: Room # 241 is next to vending machines and you get a constant humming noise of the generators. Hotel staff was courteous to get it changed for us within 5 minutes and walked us to the new room and carried the keys themselves.

stayed in May 2008
My fiance and I stayed at the Embassy Suites for a weekend in March, 2008. We had a really nice time, but there were a couple things that we didn't like the most.
First the good:
- The lobby/atrium - The ES has done a fantastic job of creating a tropical atrium, complete with a waterfall and real tropical plants and palm trees. In addition, they have updated many aspects of the public areas, like nice leather couches and chairs to lounge in, a very nice bar/ restaurant where you can get a meal or a drink (we didn't have the opportunity to eat there, however)
- FREE BREAKFAST/DRINKS! - When I read in a review previous to this one that they served a full breakfast and cocktails in the afternoon for free, I thought it was a typo. But its not. We ate the breakfast two mornings, and it was awesome! They have an omelet station where chefs cook your omelet to order, fresh bacon, sausage and potatoes are also offered at the omelet station. Then they have all types of drinks, from quality coffee with real 1/2 and 1/2 or whatever else you like in your coffee, fruit juices, pop and milk from those old school milk dispensers like in the old diners. I had a glass of chocolate milk just because it was fun using those dispensers. In addition, they have a full continental breakfast right there as well, which includes donuts, danish, toast, fruit, oatmeal, cereal, and more. All of this for absolutely FREE.... Nice. This saved us a ton of money, because we just ate a nice sized breakfast, and then we wren't hungry until dinner. We unfortunately weren't around for cocktail hour when we were there, so we weren't able to partake in the free booze, so I can't opine on that.
- The gym - My fiance and I decided we were going to be good and get up on Staurday morning and workout. If you have ever worked out in a hotel, you know that sometimes its a joke trying to get a good workout in. Not here. They have what looks like a brand new workout room, complete with rubber floors, mirrored walls, flat screen TVs on the walls, and TVs in the eliptical machines. There are a couple treadmills, bikes, and a full set of free weights. They offer a couple adjustable benches, so you can get a pretty full workout in. The equipment we used was comparable to the equipment we use at our gym at home. Give it a try.
Now the not so good (not bad by any stretch):
- The rooms - While the rooms are suites, which offers a living room, bar area, and a nice size bedroom, they were just a touch outdated. But the weird thing is that the outdated things were mixed in with the new things. Mind you, we were very comfortable, but it just seemed like they were about half done with whatever remodels they were doing. But we had a very relaxing, quiet time, and I'm really only saying something about the rooms just so you don't expect something brand new.
Neither Good or Bad, just notes:
Location - This could be good or bad, depending on what you are doing in the Springs. This hotel is pretty far north, so if you want to go downtown or some other southern destination, it is a bit of a drive. However, if you have business at the AF Academy, you are in the right place. A good benefit to the location of the hotel is that there are several restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, which is nice.
Bottom Line:
We would go back, but we might try to stay at the Hilton Antlers downtown next time. just because its right in the middle of everything, and its a touch nicer. But this place is probably cheaper, it works just fine, so give it a try.
