Elegant central hotel

The Nogaro is a small, elegant hotel right next to Plaza de Mayo. Refurbished to look like a boutique hotel, it has a modern and smart lobby, decorated in the predictable but always effective dark brown, beige and white palette.
Our first room was a small one, but switching to a larger one was not a problem. The nicely appointed bedroom with dark yellow walls, traditional hardwood floor, comfortable beds was complete with a small working space. The bathroom left a bit to be desired, their renovation being not more then a much to obvious face lift.
The service is attentive enough. The breakfast, advertised as the best in town, doesn't exactly meet that particular expectation but is rather complete, with delicious omelets constantly being made to order. It is however served in a rather simple and bland canteen-like room at the back of the hotel, which could and should be much improved decor-wise.
All in all a competent, perfectly located, inexpensive property that doesn't set you on fire, and works fine as a base to discover BsAs.

Small Boutique Hotel in a really great safe location. Everything is within walking distance. Check out the local sunday market just a short walk away. Rooms are on the small size and no seating area in room, old hardwood floors - we heard are neighbors walking above us and a some door banging during the day - but in the evening it was was quiet. Spotlessly clean. The location and staff and service made-up for the room. Room service was very efficient we waited no longer than 10 minutes for morning coffee and afternoon ice., etc. . Almost all the staff spoke English and were extremely helpful. We negotiated through a local agent and got a great deal @ $100.00 a night incl. a very hearty breakfast.

This was the great hotel in the center of BA just one block from Plaza Mayo. The rooms were a bit old and small but very clean and the staff was so helpful. So spoke a very good English (which is not typical for all SouthAmerican hotels). Tthe breakfast very good, and the location excellent. I would recommend this hotel as a good mid-level hotel close to the city center.

This was the best hotel I stayed at in BA. It's not cheap and not for backpackers, but the staff was very helpful, the rooms were nice, the breakfast very good, and the location excellent.
I would recommend this hotel as a good mid-level hotel close to the city center.

Hotel has excellent location and, for Argentinian hotel, offers a very good breakfast. The rooms are OK - a little dated but clean. The bad is the service we received on the first night - being placed in a triple room instead of a double room as booked. The guy at the front desk didn't even tell us, never mind apologize for the error. After this incident the service improved. The gym is very basic and there are two computers for internet access downstairs.
