This hotel is less than 5 mins. to the subway station which is wonderful in Paris. You can definitly walk to Musee D'Orsay, Louvre and Notre Dame from the hotel. We didn't get the breakfast that's an added cost, instead we had a coffee and croissant and the cafe nearby. Hotel was very quiet at night and was enough room for 2 people. It's not a 5 star hotel, but you're not paying for one. There is an elevator, but very small. It did fit our bags though. Front desk staff were great...they speak english and were able to point us in any direction we wanted to go. We couldn't check in early, but they let us keep our bags there while we wandered the city. All in all we would recommend this hotel.

We spent 3 nights at this hotel to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and it did not disappoint.
The location of the hotel was excellent, right in the heart of Paris and close to everything. It was very easy to find and the metro was just around the corner. Would recommend catching the RER and metro from CDG airport as it was quick, easy and cheap. There were some great cafe's on the surrounding streets and only 5-10 minutes walk from the lively restaurants and bars of the latin quarter, notre dame and the louvre (and very safe to walk).
Would particularly recommend the steak restaurant 2 doors down from the hotel which had locals queued up outside every night and is great if you have a tight budget.
The hotel was good with very friendly, english speaking staff on reception. Check in/out was very quick and easy. The room was clean, and had enough space for the both of us. The bathroom was small but perfectly formed, it had no bath but this would only be a problem for people who like to take baths instead of showers! The decor was a bit dated but not nasty - I suppose typically Parisien! TV had CNN as the only english channel - you might want to take a book for times when you are resting as 24 hr news is not something to watch for a long time. We had a room overlooking the little courtyard and it was very quiet and we did not get disturbed by noise at all.
Overall we were so pleased with the hotel and everything around it - a great base to explore the city and good value too.

The Crystal has a pretty good location (there aren't a lot of Left Bank hotels this close to the Seine, and you could throw rocks at the Saint Germain de Pres Metro stop, should you choose to do so), and wonderfully nice staff. It's got a warm lobby. It just doesn't have very good rooms (or, at a minimum, Room 6 is not very good.)
The elevator is shockingly small. I can live with that.
The stairs are terrifying - I was coming up with phrases like "l'escalier du mort" to describe them. I can live with that (or at least I can live with it if I step with care...)
The room is way small, even by center-of-Paris hotel standards. I've stayed in a two-star hotel near St. Severin which felt roomier, and that place had JUST enough room to walk around the double bed. This was a problem, as my wife and I had two weeks' worth of bags with us for a two week trip, but I can live with that.
The walls are thin - we got to listen to many of the other guests, and my wife felt compelled to whisper in her own hotel room. I can live with that; the hotel near St. Severin was worse in that regard.
The shower mold pushed me over the edge. Made the whole place feel as cramped and unrelaxing as it kinda was. We found our moods brightened considerably when we got to the next city and arrived in our next hotel room, and only then did we appreciate what a downer this place was.
Had I booked a lower-rated hotel to save a few bucks, I could live with that, but that's not what I expected here for around 200 euro per night. I would've asked about a renovated room (and I still might consider returning if I were guaranteed a room upgrade), but wife overheard the guy at the desk telling another family the hotel was full, so didn't even try.

I booked the Crystal hotel for my 40th birthday trip to Paris with my husband and two other couples - what a little gem in the centre of Paris. Ideal location for sightseeing, the Louvre and other major sights very close and the staff could not have been more helpful, they even put up with my limited school girl french!!! They organized us taxi's whenever we needed and where more than willing to help with any of our requests. The dinner cruise on the Seine on the Bateau Parisien is not to be missed - a magaical night. The only downside was the price of drinks, we arrived late one evening and ended up in the Cafe de Flore round the corner for a quick drink before bed and ended up 100 Euro shorter for two rounds of drinks for 7 people!! The drinks do seem to be rather pricey but then... you are in what must be the most beautiful city in the world and we kept on drinking - just need to save up for the next 10 years to go back for my 50th. All of us would highly recommend the Crystal Hotel, clean, not too small and very friendly.

Great location (metro station and two of the best cafes in Paris at 100m distance), standard service (small room, well furnished, clean (for french standard))
