Stayed there for a few days with my girlfriend and it was not too bad. It was clean but it was ridiculously small. It is like a box room. You have no space around the bed it you have suitcases. wardrobe was broken and the shower had no curtain, which meant the floor of the tiny bathroom was soaked if u had a shower. the staff can be rude if you catch them at a bad time, but can also be helpful if u want to find somewhere. there is a lady with short dark hair and glasses who is nice as is a man with short dark hair and glasses. there is a gingery-blonde woman with long hair who can be rude and i saw her raise her voice at someone for interrupting her while she was reading a magazine. the hotel website pics are deceiving. the lift/elevator is big enough for 2 people. it was a struggle to get me and my girlfriend and our suitcases in which menat that we had to do it one at a time. it looks awful from the outside and gloomy inside. the "breakfast" is a joke. a few bits of bread, coffee and boiled eggs. u would be much better off going out for breakfast. oh, and you have to leave your key if u want to leave the hotel................wierd! the tv cuts out, there is no english channels and u get porn at 10am!..........nice! lol. on the pls side the location is quiet and the near the metro.
Hotel Cheverny is 1.5 star at most.

This hotel should be avoided at all costs. Our room was so tiny you couldn't move around and it was very smelly. The smell was partly because the tiny bathroom has no shower curtain (none of the rooms we saw had one) and water splashes everywhere and it cannot dry out. Bathroom tiles are cracked and dirty and no proper plug in bath. The room decor is very dirty and very shabby with no room anywhere - you have to pile your clothes on a chair as no drawers and you can't get into the 'wardrobe' because the folding door doesn't open enough. You open the door to the mini bar (to put your water in) and find there is no fridge there! At breakfast there is no room to sit - we had to stand by the bar having our breakfast - fruit juice glasses are cracked, there are not enough plates or cutlery to go round and when plates are available there is no flat surface to stand them on to put your cereal in. The only helpful member of staff was a cleaner! The only thing going for it is it's position - round the corner from the metro. It is TRULY the worst hotel we've ever stayed in. Don't just believe me read other reviews. Other people there said they would post a review of complaint on trip advisor but when they get back they might not bother. So beware - you've been warned.
Good value

Quietish area, close to the Metro with easy access to the rest of Paris. A number of decent bars and restaurants within a short walk. The room and bathroom were small but that's really the only gripe. Otherwise they were clean and comfortable. No problem getting into hotel at 2:00 in the morning. Breakfast was more than acceptable - fresh fruit, croissants, pastries, bread, meat, cheese. In all, very good value for what we paid.
Close to Metro

Having read the reviews after booking the hotel I was very worried and although it wasn't as bad as I was expecting I wouldn't really recommend it.
Positives:
Near the metro line 3 (approx 1 minute walk)
Lots of good restaurants within walking distance
Clean bedding and towels everyday and the room was clean
Quite neighbourhood
Taxi fare from Gare du Nord was ?8.50
Negatives:
Very small bedroom right next to the lift so some noise - the picture on the website must be one of the suites as our room looked nothing like it
Tiny shower - hardly room to turn round
Not enough hangers in the tiny wardrobe
Herd of elephants in room above - or so it felt!!
Breakfast was a free for all and if not already included in your package best to avoid as very expensive
The bar area was so small it was laughable. They didn't have any scotch whisky or milk for coffee and unbelievably for France ran out of red wine!!!
Garden area looked nothing like the picture and is really very small and dirty
One of the receptionists was very unhelpful and bordered on the rude - all we wanted was info about the different tickets types on the metro but she just waved us away and said we would have to ask at the metro station.
If all you want is a place to sleep this will probably fit the bill but wouldn't recommend it as there are better hotels nearer the centre of Paris.

I had booked this hotel as part of 3 day Easter break inclusive of the Eurostar and was pleasantly surprised with the place. I read the reviews before we went and was slightly concerned it was going to be a disaster but it certainly wasn't. The room was compact, warm, clean, comfortable and quiet. The bathroom was spotless and had a hairdryer which I was happy about! Location was great - safe and convenient. Breakfast was great, croissants, chocolate pastries, bread, fruit, cereal, ham, cheese and coffee. Could be a little crowded at times in the breakfast room but that is really the only negative thing I can say. The staff on the desk were very helpful and one guy was a real character - made us laugh every evening. So basically I recommend it - the price on the wall said 145 euros a night but we paid ?270 for the 3 nights hotel and Eurostar inclusive with Great Getaways and so I would try and get it cheaper than that.
