Awful hotel, terrible staff! This hotel may be affordable, but I wouldn't send my worst enemy here! Do yourself a favour and stay at a 20 euro a night hostel, it will be better than Hotel des Arts!

On a recent trip to Europe, I stayed in Paris on two separate occasions for 3 nights each. To make the most of it, I chose two different locations - St Germain/Latin Quarter and Montmartre. I stayed at this hotel on my second visit to Paris and loved it. Montmartre is on the edge of Paris so it's a bit of a trek to other sightseeing locations etc. but it's a nice, unique area to stay in and enjoy for the atmosphere. The hotel is an easy walk from the charming Place des Abbesses metro station and the main street that you walk up (Rue des Abbesses) has lots of bakeries/shops/bars/restaurants and is quite lively till late in the evening. I know some parts of Montmartre are quite seedy but staying at Hotel Des Arts you would never know you were near the red-light district (Pigalle, Blanche etc.). I was staying here by myself and felt safe all the time. The last remaining windmill Moulin de la Galette is just up the street and the whole area is so picturesque and lovely. The hotel itself is great too - my room was clean and comfortable with a big double bed and bath. The only problem was i was given room no. 1 which is literally right next to reception, which was a bit uncomfortable. The breakfast (included in the room rate) was really nice and the staff were friendly and polite. I was allowed to leave my luggage there before check-in and after check-out without any problem. Definitely a good choice in Paris!

This hotel was soooo nice...cozy, comfortable and clean especially for the price. What a deal. I'm very picky about hotels...and I was not disappointed. I was worried that the carpet would be really dirty but it wasn't (I was in rm 46--not much of view)...carpet was clean, sheets and bathroom clean. The only thing I would mention is the bathroom was small..if you are extremely large it may be tight...but still it was clean and neat and I loved the handle shower. The lobby was warm and comforting as well as the concierge. It's a cute little boutique hotel which for the price I think has a lot of character. The surrounding atmosphere in Montmartre also attributed to the hotel experience...with the cobblestones right outside your doorstep....and the Sacre Couer less than 10 minute walk. The subway was a safe 5 minute walk down the street. I went alone and stayed 3 nights and felt completely safe...even came home at 12:30am and didn't feel threatened in the least. I would definately book this hotel again!!! And probably will.

A fantastic little hotel in the best arrondissment of the best city in the world. we've just spent 4 days at the Hotel and we adored it. It is essentially next door to everything including two metro stops, the Sacre Coeur and the best cheese shops in Paris.
This Hotel is a true gem
