During a recent 3-week trip to Turkey I spent 5 nights at one of the nicest hotels I've ever experienced.
The Hotel Yusuf Pasa Konagi is perfectly located in the old section of Istanbul, Sultanahmet, an easy stroll away from the Blue Mosque, Agia Sophia church, Topkapi Palace and the unforgettable Grand Bazaar with its 4,000 shops.
After a long days sightseeing it was always great to come home to this welcoming hotel. The staff are superb and go out of their way to help you.
My beautifully furnished room was like a small suite with a large and extremely comfortable bed, a seperate sitting area with a table and 2 chairs and some rooms also have a small balcony.
The included breakfast on the rooftop terrace with views of the Sea of Marmara was a treat.
A special feature of this hotel, a fully-restored timber Ottoman mansion, is the lobby. It's like a mini museum beautifully drecorated with lots of interesting Turkish artifacts.
During my time in Turkey I stayed in 8 hotels and the Yusuf Pasa Konagi outshone them all.
The rates are great - check them out,

We have stayed in these Hotel for one week.
You can walk to the interest?ng po?nts like Hagia Sophia or Sultan Ahmet Mosque by feet.
The reception of these hotel is open for 24 hours and the recept?on employee are very friendly and helpful. They speak english and that is not normaly for all hotels reception employees in Istanbul. We had a nice double room and the size of the room was good enough for one week sightseeing trip.
The restaurant is on the top of these hotel and you have a good view to the Bosborus.

This is a small hotel in a very quiet neighborhood right in the middle of all the action. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean. They aimed to please! I would most definitely stay there again.

If you like peace (Yusuf Pasa is sl?ghtly off the beaten path.i.e. 20 seconds) and to be in the center of the action (3 minutes walk?ng from Blue Mosque. Hagia Sofia and Topkap? Palace) Yusuf Pasa is the place! I chose this hotel (after extensive personal research: physically walking and talking) for the incred?ble peace and pleasure of its lobby (antique furn?ture and soft clasical turk?sh mus?c) the respectful and ?mpeccable serv?ce, and the reastaurant overlooking the Marmara Sea (breakfast area and weekend fest?vities w?th Live Turkish Mus?c). I strongly suggest a pleasureful stay at Yusuf Pasa Konag?. To see , feel and experience Istanbul and Turkey.
A Delightful place

Located right at the end of the Sultanahmet old but rustic area, the YusufPasa Konagi is literally 3-4 minutes down from the streets where all the action on that side of Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia are. 30 metres up the road is a street filled with restaurants, small shops and cafes which range from turkish coffee shops to australian pubs and bars. Two more minutes up the road you can find area just below Blue Mosque with evening music gardens, a small range bazaar, and the centre of Istanbul's culture - plato with two famous buildings.
The hotel itself has a very warm and homely feel about it, probably much helped by an old Ottoman interior design. To say that staff are friendly, helpful and curteous would be an understatement. Hotel has a service of picking guests up and dropping them off to/from Atat?rk airport which is free of charge. They are also able not only to provide other useful information about city sight-seeing, but are connected to other business, like restaurants, and are very quickly able to organise transportation to these places which is again, free of charge. Perfect for eating out in a city which you don't know too well and don't want to spend more on a taxi than on your dinner.
The rooms are fairly standard, but very pleasent, and the only thing we disliked was staying on the first floor, which does not make for the best view. As said in other reviews, it is rtue that the hotel is located fairly close to the railtrack, but we hardly noticed this. You will hear muezzins' calls for prayers from city mosques louder than trains.
The whole immediate 3-4 street area is filled with small hotels and hostels, but I would thoroughly reccomend Yusuf Pasha Konagi, and am fairly certain that I would stay there again if returning to Istanbul.
