This is right off of Rt 460, and very close to Rt. 29. Liberty University's campus is right across the road. The room was clean, but simple. Nothing special. The kitchen area of the double bed room was very small, if you were planning on using the kitchen. Bathroom was again simple, but clean. I found the room very comfortable and suited to my needs. I was a little disappointed that I had to pay for internet access, though. If you can get a good deal on it, this is not that bad of a place to stay.

I booked this hotel in early May 2007 and at that time the hotel we normally stay at in Lynchburg was booked (it was Parents weekend for several local colleges). When I booked this hotel there was one other review in April that said it was "basic and clean"..good enough for me. But after I booked it there were three subsequent reviews which scared me. I couldn't change my reservation by then and everything was booked. So, I brought my own pillow and blanket and feared the worse..but as it turned out, it was fine. It's not the Ritz but the room was clean as were the sheets etc. The hallways and elevator were not the cleanest or best smelling but the room was okay. The staff was pleasant and friendly. The one thing I was unaware of when we booked is that because it is an "extended stay" hotel housekeeping only comes once a week. But for a two night stay, the fact that I had to make my bed one morning was not a big deal and there were plenty of clean towels-4 large towels for the 2 of us for a two night stay was fine. The location was okay too. Not in the center of town but not far away from anything. It was a 5 minute ride to our son's college (Lynchburg College) and about 10 minutes to the center of town where we ate twice. I felt compelled to write this review after the series of bad reviews before me. I prefer the Holiday Inn Select where we normally stay due to location and the common areas are a little cleaner and they have a restaurant/bar but in a pinch I would stay at Extended Stay America again.

We were to stay 3 nights 8/10-8/12/07 but when we entered in the hotel we were in for a rude awakening. The place had a misty smell and the carpets were dirty and part of the ceiling tile was removed. We entered into our room to find a nightmare. The frigerator had a lot of mold and the bathroom was filthy. We were given another room. The frig was clean but again the bathroom was fithy , nightstand was sticky, kitchen was dirty and the room smelled. This placed definately was not cleaned for a wk or so. There was nothing pretty about the room. In fact I felt so dirty that I made sure I walked in my shoes and tried not to touch anything. Because we had arrived so late we weren't able to get another hotel until the next day. I hated to have to sleep in their beds but I made sure to put something on the pillow and wear long pants and socks. We went over to the Wingate the next day. This is a beautiful hotel. Very clean .... and reasonable price. We were told by the manager at Extended Stay they were short in cleaning staff. He also said that they clean 1 a wk. That is crazy. They say the hotel is new. New in what way?? the place looks as if it needs to be torned down and rebuilt.. The only thing positive I can say was we were not charged for the night. I believe the manager undersood how dirty his place is. DONT STAY HERE..they need to do some serious renovating and cleaning

The staff here can be incredibly rude (with a few exceptions). It is like pulling teeth with them to get them to clean your room. Be careful when leaving because they will continue to charge you for staying there. The office staff are not very knowledgeable in their own computer systems nor on how to treat guests with dignity.
Also the location is not very convenient, if you are a local it is confusing to get to and from the main part of town. There are no gas stations or convenience stores nearby.

This was an incredibly dirty hotel.
Something was spilled all over the carpet in the hall.
The room they gave me did have clean sheets, but that was about all. I had to clean vomit off the chair and the floor.
The bathroom floor had mud on it, as well as sticky places.
When I told the desk about the vomit and the floor they apologized. But, the next time they cleaned the room they still didn't clean the bathroom floor. I would never stay there again.
