For once I have to side with the bleakest reviews - this hotel (never mind the surrounding area) is just not acceptable. I had one of the dingiest, smoke smelling tooms I ever been faced with together with a shower which leaked all over the bathroom. Yes its cheap and the breakfast (optional) was adequate - but there's no excuse for such low standards.

A very cheap but generally ok hotel based in one of Lille's less prosperous areas. The area can be a little intimidating, but it's nowhere near as bad as the other reviews suggest as long as you exercise the same basic common sense that you would elsewhere. The rooms themselves are pretty basic, but clean and functional. There's not much going on in the locality and entertainment on site is limited to a mini-bar and a pool table, but the metro is five minutes walk and only around twenty to the centre of the city. Essentially, it's a no thrills place that represents value for money and covers the basics well enough.

Do not stay at this hotel. The staff are rude, the area the hotel is situated is no where near the centre and it is rough - you would not wamt to walk around after dark. They do not provide cots for baby's. The hotel is dirty - you have been warned do not stay there!

Je suis allé en Autriche pour le mariage de mon frère avec mes deux enfants et, au retour, nous nous sommes arrêtés à Lille et avons séjourné à l’hôtel Nord. A la première impression, je l’ai trouvé propre et confortable jusqu’à ce que j’aille me coucher. 10 minutes après avoir éteint la lumière, j’ai senti des insectes ramper sur moi. Nous avons fini par dormir dans la voiture de mon frère. Je ne conseillerais à personne de séjourner dans cet hôtel.
