Spent a few weeks here Mar 2007. Room was a bit more cramped than I expected, and I was a bit disappointed there was no oven. But the full fridge was nice. The hotel didn't appear to be maintained the best. Not in disrepair or anything, but it seemed very used for how old it is. Being on the south end of the city is pretty nice though. It's only about a half hour or so to Lake Tahoe. Also there is a convenient bus stop right across the street, so it's easy to take downtown for partying and much cheaper than a cab. Reno also has like every chain restaurant on the planet, so comfort food is never far away. The Flowing Tide (fun little Bar/Grill) is a short walk, and the patrons are very friendly.

I stayed at the Extended Stay America Reno - South Meadows for 3 weeks in June and July 2006. Overall it worked out fine. The room was a little cramped and there really isn't a closet, wire racks to hang your clothes from. The kitchenette came with no supplies at all (no dish soap or anything). The bed was comfy but the sheets don't stay on and the mattress pad gets all scrunched up. I went out and bought a clock radio because the alarm clock didn't have a radio, just an alarm. Housekeeping did a good job, but I did find long black hairs many times around the room. Limited TV channels. The laundry worked but was small and people seemed to be hogging it (like using all 4 washers at the same time, and then not returning to move the clothes to the dryers for over an hour). The front desk staff was basically friendly but didn't go out of their way really. The elevator broke once while I was there. There are stains on the carpet in the hallway. There was an unpleasant, plastic-like smell in the stairwells. So basically this place is starting to show some wear and is not being maintained very well.
One of the most annoying things is that guests leave garbage outside of the doors at the end of the hotel. My room was way at the end, which was nice from the lack of noise standpoint, but everyday people would toss trash like fast food bags and drink cups etc onto the ground outside the door. There is no trash can there. It smells bad and is really unpleasant when you come home from a day of work and have to walk past peoples' garbage. The hotel was very slow to clean this up, and when I suggested they simply put a trash can there, they didn't say anything.
The location really worked out well. It is quiet, about 5-6 miles south of the city, but Reno is so small that it is very easy. You can go into town on 395, takes only 5-6 minutes. The airport is convenient. You can also go into Reno via Virginia St. Just about every national chain store you can think of has a location somewhere along Virginia or nearby, which is super handy, and the you come to the Meadowood Mall. If you keep going on Virginia towards Reno from the mall, you come to the Atlantis Casino and then the Peppermill with its psychedelic colors. South of the hotel on 395 is the Double Diamond area, which has a 24hour super Walmart and tons of food places. A little further south is a brand new upscale shopping mall with a Dillards, and that is where the roads are to Virginia City, Carson City and Lake Tahoe. Right down the street from the hotel are offices in one direction (means no noise at night). Next door is a Residence Inn and then a small shopping strip with a Wells Fargo, Subway, Dominos, etc, and a coffee place that closes too early. There is a gas station, and then over to the east is a 24 hour Smith's Grocery, Starbuck's, Papa John's, Great Clips, Port of Subs, McDonald's, another gas station, Taco Bell, and a Bank of America. All of this is very convenient.
There is a little stream next to the hotel which is landscaped and has some benches to sit on. You can see snow-capped Sierras to the west and reddish rocky mountains to the east. There really is a meadow right across from the hotel, full of flowers and very pretty.
The bottom line is that despite some wear and tear and some minor annoyances, the location is good, the staff is rather neutral, and my stay went fine. This was nicer than the other Extended Stay I have been to in Ontario, CA. If I can afford someplace a little nicer next time, however, I will choose something else, like the Residence Inn next door or a Hampton Hotel and Suites down the road a bit.

We liked this hotel at the begining. It is clean and convenient location between sking and Carsino. It is good for quiet family. However, the insulation between up and down units are poor. We could even hear noisy steps on the upper room even though people tried to walk quietly.
Clerks and staffs are very polite to customers. However, one of managers are very rude to customers. He (I believe that his name started with "D") hung up the phone serveral times before the customer finished asking for help.

This hotel is about 5 miles south of Reno. Very quiet, out of the city. Our room with a king bed had a little kitchenette. Very clean. Very quiet. Built only a few years ago, so no moldy, old, smoky odors. No free breakfast. No frills, really, but very clean, spacious room.

These suites were comfortable, clean and the location was very quiet. Just enough room for a family with a kitchenette for self catering but not what you would call spacious. Well away from the heart of the city so if you are attracted by the casinos it is probably not suitable.
If you book online double check the rate you are charged against the rate you are quoted. We had a disagreement over this which was sorted out eventually (3 days later).
