We booked this hotel via Priceline and got a very good rate. Not knowing anything about it, we were somewhat worried about the quality we would find when we arrived. No worries! It was safe, clean and reasonably comfortable. Our room was very clean, with a good bathroom and a bed that was on the firm side, but fine just the same. Everything worked, including all parts of the mini kitchen. I don't think I'd want to try more than the basics in it ("mini" is the right description), but it more than met our needs for an overnight stay.
The place is located a relatively short distance from the hotel. We were able to get to it from our car rental agency without a hitch, in the dark and without any previosu knowledge of the area.
Front desk people could have been a bit more helpful with directions, but overall were fine.
Stay an an ESA if you can get a bargain rate, like the $50 or so we paid. There are better alternatives at higher price points, but this one's not bad at all.

This certainly isn't the best hotel you will ever find, but it was excellent for location (if you want to be near the airport), cleanliness, neighbourhood, amenities and service. Because it's so close to the airport it is a little noisy. I wouldn't recommend it for light sleepers.
I booked the rooms from the Extended Stay website for $119 with a king bed and pull out double sofa. The rooms were very large with full kitchen area with stove, full-size fridge and microwave. The website says "all rooms recently renovated." I belive this because it looked like we were the first persons to stay in this one. It was that clean. It seems to be a very pleasant/safe neighbourhood with several restaurants, at least one Bar and a grocery store close by.
The entrance is hard to find because you come in through a shopping plaza parking lot and the sign as you enter the shopping plaza makes no mention of the hotel. I had to drive around the block once because I had already missed the driveway by the time I saw the hotel. P.S. - A block in Miami can be a long, long way...
When we arrived the lobby absolutely reeked. It smelled like 125 elderly ladies had just received a perm. The very pleasant desk clerk explained that the laundry discharge system needed to be cleaned out and that the company that provided this service didn't work weekends. It was Sunday night two days before Christmas so I believed him. The smell didn't extend to the floors where the rooms were so it really wasn't a big problem. It was gone by the next morning.
They have a complimentary shuttle to the airport which worked out just fine for us. Ver y friendly driver.

I was pleasantly surprised when I got to our room! I am a clean freak, but this room was actually up to my standards. Only one problem, the towels. On the first day, I went to take a shower and the towels had hairs all over them. Gross. So we got new towels and they were fine, but on about 2 or 3 other days of our 8 day stay we also had hairs on the towels... I'm assuming (and hoping) that it's just the cleaning ladies hairs falling onto the towels, because everything else about the room seemed clean.
But this hotel is very nice for the price. The decor (couch, curtains, paint, etc.) was all very nice and updated just as the website described. The bathroom had a nice big closet and vanity area that I loved (not enough hangers though). And it was great to have a full kitchen (stove, oven, microwave, fridge, sink, and dishes) And the laundry room was great too, did laundry 3 times (told you I was a clean freak lol). The fitness center only had a couple treadmills and bikes... nothing but cardio... The pool looked nice and clean from afar, but I didn't go close to it...
I would definitely stay here again as long as I bring my own towels or the cleaning staff starts wearing hair nets, but I will probably just bring a couple of my own towels since there are good laundry facilities.
Another pleasant surprise was that the wireless internet service was only $5 for the whole week! I thought I had read somewhere that it was $5 per day, so that was nice!
It was also nice that there was a Subway and a place called Chicken Grill within walking distance... other than that you'd need a car or a cab to get to a grocery or drug store... but we had a car so it was ok.
