I was on an overnight trip in Springfield with three friends. We just needed a place to crash after a busy day. That is exactly what we got at this hotel. It is a clean, simple, and very relaxed environment. When we checked in, first they gave us a smoking room. But when we requested a change, they were happy to oblige us. The room was actually a handicap-accessible room, so it was very roomy...which was nice when four girls were trying to do thier hair and make-up the next morning.
Maybe I'm a bit spoiled, but the bed was not very comfortable. Quite hard. But the sheets were clean, so we were content.
Hotel is in a great location right off of HWY 60. Several fast-food and nicer restaurants right there. There is a grocery store a block away for those who want to take advantage of the kitchenette rooms.

I really dislike the staff at this hotel...They are rude VERY rude.
We had to stay 2 whole weeks while waiting on our home to be ready to move into, We were put in a super nice room, then we were asked to move into a non clean blankets torn hair in sink and no TOWELS! We were told the room they moved us to was a SHOW room so this was the bait and switch routine! They show you a nice NICE room and move you to a 1 star room with a 19 inch tv. This place sucks and so do the people who run this place. I have called the regional mgr when we left and still to this day have never recieved a call back.

I've stayed at ExtendedStay hotels in 4 or 5 different cities, always thru Priceline.com. They're usually pretty decent, and have kitchen facilities, which is nice. Inevitably, though, they have incredibly hard & uncomfortable beds/mattresses. Absolutely the hardest and worst beds of any chain that I've ever stayed at.
The one in Springfield has the same problem. Additionally, I had to wait 10-15 minutes to get any service at the front desk, despite ringing the bell. This was at 8 p.m. on a Thursday night, not in the middle of the night or anything.
Finally, I noticed some mud in the elevator that night, which was still there the following morning around 9 a.m. So housekeeping definitely gets a failing grade, in this visit.
Overall, ExtendedStay is not a bad chain--it's affordable, usually clean, and normally the staff is pleasant enough. But if you stay there, plan on an uncomfortable beds and not the best night of sleep. Maybe if enough of us complain to the hotel......

DIRTY - Ants - Yuk!
Guest name: wilsonChicago_IL, Chicago, IL
There were several problems with our room. First of all, there were several ants in our room. When we commented to the front desk - they said "well, all of your booking was done on priceline - sorry!". Our room was very dirty (i.e. hair on the toilet, debris on the carpet, the bedding had stains/marks on it) - also, there was a large hole in the recliner chair in our room. We are not the type to complain, and since we were only staying one night...we were glad to be out of there in the morning! Stay somewhere else! Antoher note - apparentley since this is "extended stay' you get NOTHING in your room- not even coffee filters or coffee, not to mention small shampoo, condt., soaps, etc.
