We did not like this hotel! We were kept awake by other guest rooms until 3:30 A.M. and our non-smoking room smelled like smoke late in the night because other guests near us were smoking in non-smoking rooms and I suspect the hallway. Then our other neighbors woke us very loudly at 6:00 a.m. We were out for a girls weekend, away from the kids & husbands, and came home much more exhausted than when we arrived. I would never stay at Doubletree again, and I would never recommend it.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel one night in January, as we were attending a show at a theater which was a short distance away. We were very pleased with the easy access (secure) parking, the friendliness of the desk staff, and the yummy warm cookies we were given upon check-in. We arrived on a busy Saturday evening, and requested that the front desk arrange a taxi for us, which they did, and at the approximate time that we needed to be picked up which was about 1/2 hour after our check-in. Most anything that you would want to see or do in that part of Minneapolis is right within walking distance from this hotel. We took a cab because it was extremely cold that night. We booked a jet-tub , king bed suite, which was very nice. There was a microwave and small refridgerator, which was nice since we brought along our own beverages. The bed was the most comfortable that we had ever had at any hotel, with wonderful bedding. I would love to stay there again for possibly a "girls' shopping" weekend, or to attend a theater event. Great shopping and restaurants were all within walking distance, but we did not have time during that stay to check any of them out. I would love to stay there again, and will watch for any special offers which are available from time to time from this hotel.

Very nice hotel attached to the Minneapolis skywalk system, which was very convenient since I was without a car and it rained the entire time I was there. Was able to walk to restaurants and shopping without a coat or an umbrella. Staff was very friendly. As HH gold member I was upgraded to executive level, and room was very nice, lots of windows, but the drapes actually did block out the light in the morning. Great steam shower. Safe in my room very convenient to store valuables without worrying when out of room. Room service, mini bar and spa prices were high, but probably typical of any downtown Minneapolis hotel. Only a couple of blocks walk from the light rail station from airport. I did not have the breakfast or "happy" hour due to work schedule. I will definitely be staying in this hotel the next time I am in town!

We stayed at the Doubletree for three nights in early April 2008. We booked our room at the very last minute--10 minutes before we arrived--when we realized that our first hotel was not within walking distance of the convention center. The staff at the Doubletree was more than accomodating. They gave us a large suite for only $139 a night.
The room was large and very clean. But the furniture and walls were a little old and tired. The bath area was tiny! But the bed was just wonderful-large and soft. I slept great!. You get breakfast coupons for a full breakfast in the restaurant. The food was tasty.
On the negative side, there was no air in the room so it became very, very hot. We had to sleep with the windows open which made for noisy sleeping. Wi-fi is only available in the lobby, which is a pain. The front desk didn't have a map of Minneapolis which I thought was strange.
I'd stay here again if the rate is low enough but if they increase prices, I think I would look for a more luxurious property.
