This hotel is not nearly as bad as stated. They are doing renovations, but some rooms are done. Those rooms are very nice and up to standard for a 3 star hotel. They are comparable to a Sheraton, Embassy Suites, or Marriott room. I was thinking of canceling before I got here because of the reviews, but I assure you it was not as bad as previously reported. If you do priceline in this zone and get this, dont worry. It is fine. FYI, I bid for a 2.5 star in this zone and they upgraded me to this 3 star.

Doubletree's big thing is that they are an all-suite hotel. This is true in that there is a door between a sitting room and a couch but do NOT mistake this for a luxury hotel. It is filthy, filthy, filthy (and also tiny).
As to the cleanliness aspect, the lobby looked fine, but the room appeared dingy from when we arrived. The bedspread looked disgusting, the windows were dirty, and the wardrobe was kind of falling apart.
The first time we had maid service, I wanted to get my digital camera to take a picture. The two beds in the room had been made, the pullout bed sheets and blankets were crumpled on the pullout bed as were the blankets in the crib. The room was also still dirty. This was typical of the "maid service."
The trash cans in the rooms did not have liners, so I threw the baby's diapers in an outside garbage can on my way to breakfast. I did the same the next two days and noticed both times that all the previous diapers were still there. The next day I just put the diaper from the night before in the room's garbage can, and when we returned that night, though there had been maid service in the room, the diaper was still there.
As to the size aspect, the room was basically the size of a regular room but subdivided into two rooms. They fit two queen sized (or maybe full sized, I'm not sure) beds in the room by putting them in a line against opposite walls with a nightstand just barely fitting between them. So to get out of bed you had to climb over the other person into the aisle in front of the nightstand. The room had what appeared to be a closet in the corner which was apparently just utilities. You couldn't open it because there was a wardrobe (which was uncomfortably crowded in the room) shoved up against it. You expect this somewhere like NYC where real estate is expensive and you have to shove in the furniture, but this is Florida.
The sitting room had a couch which folded out into a bed. It was sort of broken in that it took the full strength of my husband to open it because it was misaligned. Not sure when that bed had last been changed because it did not seem clean, and the springs and low quality mattress seemed shot, but it worked okay for one of my kids. Unfortunately, because it was so difficult to unfold the bed you kind of had to keep it out or sticking up, but when the bed was down, you couldn't get past the circular eating table or really use it.
When we got to the room, we were pleased to see that it had a little fridge and micro (useful for a 5 day stay). Unfortunately, the fridge froze all our food, regardless of which setting it was on, and the micro was so old it took forever to heat anything and what was heated was grossly uneven. Example, we tried to heat some leftover Boston Market spinach off an individual plate. After 3 minutes, the 6 bites or so of food still had a block of spinach ice in the middle. After a few more minutes, there was still some ice but some of the plate was burned.
When we reserved the room, we opted for the included breakfast. It was basically okay and seemed about right for the $6.89 per person price listed on the door. There were scrambled and hard boiled eggs (the boiled eggs had obviously been reheated from prior days when they weren't eaten but I let my son have one anyway. It was rotten.), breakfast potatoes, the most fatty bacon I have seen, and old looking sausage. The bread options looked good, bagels, wheat and white bread, mini-muffins, danishes, and a waffle machine. There was juice (sugary but usually properly mixed) and decent coffee. There were Corn Flakes, Raisin Bran, and generic Cheerios. There were bananas, whole oranges, and whole apples (we tried two, both of which were mealy / rottenish). The staff did not want to be there.
We tried the pool once and it was not too full yet they could not manage to keep towels there. We had to wait for towels and when we left the pool area about a half an hour later, they had run out again. The hot tub was scalding hot.
Also, there was very little water pressure in the shower and the thing to turn the water pressure was broken.

Drove down from Orlando for the FHSAA Cheer Competetion and was told we could check in @ 2:00 - never happened we had to wait until 3. I booked a room with 2 double beds, ended up with a King size one and was told I couldn't change it. Some rooms were musty smelling where others were not. The bathroom was way to small, you actually had to go into the bathroom, move close to the tub before you could close the door. There are 2 elevators side by side we got stuck between floors on one of them which they shut down for awhile to fix and then got stuck on the remainder one later! (not good) Only 1 ice maker for the whole hotel on the "other" side where we weren't located. The "very small" dining area is where we had a really good breakfast but was greeted by a VERY RUDE PERSONNEL person working the register whom I found out later was also rude to others! The pool area was nice and tropical looking, but they didn't bother to clean the pool of its debris (lots of leaves) still there when we left - I did complain about the whirl pool/jacuzzi to the front office because it was GREEN. They said they would get someone right on it (NEVER HAPPENED)!!!! It was STILL green when we left. Overall experience, I would NOT recommend this place to anyone especially for the price I had to pay!

We stayed here in Feb 2007 and were very happy. We came back in 2008, but didn't have the same experience. First we found that the "living room" didn't have a tv. We asked about that, and were told that several suites had been renovated and the renovated suites had the 2nd tvs removed - there was only one in the "bedroom". (The other renovation seemed to be new tiles in the bathroom.) We opened the pull out sofa bed and found the sheets really rusty like they had not been used in ages. Housekeeping was very nice and replaced the bedding right away.
The kids were going to go for a swim in the pool, but once we saw the gatorade bottle in the bottom of the pool it didn't look so appealing. We thought about using the hot tub, but the used bandaid floating on the top made that pretty unappealing too.
Last year the breakfast was free. This year, it wasn't (I believe it was $7.95/person -- we chose to eat elsewhere).
The main bed was comfortable, and staff were friendly. It just looked like a bunch of cost cutting measures were in place. We would have toughed it out for $99 a night, but but for $175 we chose to move to a different hotel in Boca. Our 4 night planned stay turned into a one night stay.

Spent three days at a conference hosted in the hotel. The actual amenities were fine - rooms were nice, pool was well attended, the conference rooms were typical. My only beef is the staff. Generally speaking they were unfriendly, unhelpful, and hardly professional (though there was at least one front desk gentleman that was most courteous). Internet access is slow (though this is pretty typical of most hotels). There are some fast food restaurants within 15 minutes walking distance, but otherwise plan on driving everywhere.
