We stayed in Annapolis Double Tree hotel over the 4th of July weekend (great fireworks btw!).
Booked on Hotwire for $70/night, King bed no smoking room.
The hotel provided free shutle running approx. every 20min between the historical center of Annapolis and the hotel. Wonderfull, saved a lot of trouble to find parking because of the parade and fireworks.
Room was OK, bed too soft for us, but overall clean and fresh appearance. Bathroom different story - bathtub had orange mildew stains - yucky! and there were toothpaste residues in all the glasses - even the ones in the room!
When we were leaving we saw the maids taking the glasses out of the rooms to be washed - so how do they still end up dirty is beyond me.
Great was the restaurant - really nice firendly staff and good deals - happy hour 4-7 every day for $4 appetizers and drinks. The Crab dip was delicious and nicely presented, seared tuna was perfect as well.
We didn't try to fitness or the pool, but it looked clean.
Overall - good deal for $70 on Hotwire, but I wouldn't pay their face price for this hotel.

I got married the weekend of May 10 and after checking all the hotels in the area, I decided on this hotel. It was a total nightmare and I found the staff staff totally incompetent.
Staff initially was really helpful setting up group rate and asked me to sign a contract. Problems started immediately when my guests started calling / using internet for reservations. Hotel rejected more than half of my guests saying they were booked except it was nowhere near the contracted rate. I had to call at least 10 different times to get my guests issues resolved. Finally after the 10th issue and micro managing all my group's reservations, I finally got furious and spoke to Group Sales Manager Gail (yeah, yeah...not sure why I waited until 10th issue) and manager promised free breakfast for my guests. Basically I had been doing her job manager the group sales staff so I was hoping for more but I was happy with a breakfast. Well, guests started checking in on Thursday and they never got the breakfast. I called on Friday and spoke to group sales office that promised my guests would get the breakfast. Guess what....they still never did it. Then half my guests that had driven 4-8 hours get there on Friday night well after check in time and the rooms weren't ready. Again i called and talked to manager Dave about the fact that my guests couldn't checkin and we had dinner in an hour. I told him that people checking in on Friday didn't get their coupon for breakfast even though hours earlier the group sales staff "guaranteed" they would get them to my guests. Dave told me they were double / triple checking that coupons would be delivered to guests that checked in and promised my guests arriving the next day would get the coupons. Of course Saturday during my wedding I asked the guests that checked in that day if they got the coupons and again - no coupons. I called and spoke to another manager during my reception and finally talked to one competent manager Lisa that got it done. I was furious since my guests were all leaving the next day.
I had over 60 rooms booked at that hotel that weekend and they were turning away my business and lying to my face for no reason. Hotel looks nice on outside and shuttle is nice but I can't stand dealing with total idiots. I gave them the benefit of the doubt more than enough times and micro managed all my reservations - but I can't stand when managers and staff repeatedly lie to my face.
Go elsewhere. There are tons of other hotels on Riva Rd area that are just as nice for about the same price. Doesn't surprise me that previous poster says he was overcharged. They basically tried to overcharge more than half my guests instead of giving them the contracted rate. Don't stay here. Not worth the stress.

We stayed here for one night after being at Hilton Garden Inn the week before. Check-in was chaotic due to a convention. There was no special check-in for upgraded Hilton honors members. Our room faced the highway which was pretty noisy. The worst offense for me was when I asked the shuttle bus driver where he took guests. (I was unaware that they offered this service) He was very curt and responded, "just a short distance". I then asked if that included the mall area and again he was indifferent in answering me. I happened to walk by later and noticed two women asking if they could get the shuttle to take them to downtown Annapolis and they got a very different response which was much more positive. I was completely perplexed as to why he was so negative to me.

I stayed at the Doubletree in April and the hotel was ok. The toilet ran and the handle fell off in the middle of the night. My room was a good walk and every time I went to the lobby I had to walk through a wedding/reception that was going on. The problem I had was that when I checked my credit card statement there was a charge on my bill that was placed on there 4 days after I had checked out. When I called they said I was being charged for a clock radio that I had stolen from the room. They had made no attempt to contact me and I have no idea why they waited until 4 days after I checked out to charge me. After calling 3 days in a row they finally took the charge off. So if I were you I would check my credit card statement just in case

There were numerous problems with our stay and the staff do not seem to be up to the standard that we expect when we stay at a Doubletree hotel.
The first trouble was at our check-in. We had to ask about our breakfast, which was supposed to be complimentary, and the front desk had no coupons to give us. After this issue, we made the long hike to our room in the north tower. Upon entering the room, we realized they had sent us to a room with two double beds when we had booked a king room. We tried to call the front desk to see if this was because the hotel was full and there was no king available to us, but the phone was inoperable. We once again made the trek to the front desk and the front desk clerk acknowledged the error, all the while joking around with other front desk staff. It was highly unprofessional.
The major incident occurred on Saturday, November 3, 2007. We were out all day visiting family and friends. We returned to the room at 3:00 pm to get ready for the evening's wedding. When we approached the room, my husband noticed that our room door was wide open. There were no cleaning carts in the hallway and the room was empty. The bed had no linens on it and half the towels had been folded. This is a MAJOR security issue. My laptop, ipod and our luggage were readily available for anyone walking the hall to steal, as there was no in room safe for us to use. After about 15 minutes of standing there in utter disbelief, a cleaning person arrived with bed linens. She didn't seem bothered at all that she had left our door open with our room unattended for who knows how long.
