Loved the Doubletree

We have stayed in the Doubletree two times with two small children, and we have fallen in love with this hotel! Each time we have booked a jr. suite (seperated bedroom with pullout sofa in "parlor"). Our boys love the warm chocolate chip cookies upon arrival - and available anytime at the front desk -, the indoor waterfall and glassed in elevator. The rooms are larger than an average hotel room and the whirlpool bathtub is more like a big swimming pool for a 2 year old! The hotel has always been clean and the staff has always been more than happy to help with any needs. The breakfast buffet in the restaurant is pretty good - they need to work on the pancakes- but the coffee, grits, sausage gravy and biscuits, pastry and cereal selections are pretty good (AND they even have real highchairs available). One note to those with small children staying on a Friday night: make sure you book a room NOT by the balcony. The restaurant has live jazz music until about 9:30 pm. It's not real loud or raucous; however, if you're trying to get a 2yr old to sleep, it's not easy! We will definitely be staying here anytime we come to Augusta!

The room was clean; the coffee was very good; can't beat the location but the food is inedible. The staff means well but they just can't get it right.

This is a great rate for an above average hotel in a town with a lot of below average motels. Wonderful, clean rooms, friendly staff, free internet access in the rooms. Everything you would hope for from this chain. I had 3 small complains: room service forgot an item from my order (but they were super-fast!), the hot water was kind of hard to control in the shower, and i was in a room that in the middle of the hall, but had a window... to the HALL! LOL! So clearly i just kept that curtian closed!

I found the Doubletree (note this hotel is now a Doubletree, a Hilton brand) to be above average during my stay. The mid-rise hotel with interior room entrances is located in a low-rise commercial/business location and was easy to access for major roads. The exterior of the hotel and grounds were attractive and well maintained. The front desk staff was very welcoming, friendly and attentive with no problems at registration – they even provide warm cookies at check-in. The area around the hotel appeared to be generally safe. The hotel does not have restaurants within easy (

Nice room- a work in progress

I agree with the traveler that says that some things still need to be updated. There are items like common area carpets, etc. that need updating. The room was awesome and the bed exceeded those that I sleep in at Courtyard.
The good- Nice bed, flat panel TV's, bathroom facilities, ambience, work area.
Not so good- TVV was not set up- no picture. Wanted to see the news- called front desk and it took over 30 minutes to get someone to the room. Also needed a dryer the next morning- again 2 calls and 30 minutes. Dinner in the restaurant- I was the ONLY CUSTOMER. Food was great, but it took 25 minutes to get my drink and 45 to get my food- which was a cheeseburger and salad. Had I known that it would have been that slow, I would have eaten at somewhere closeby.
