The hotel is situated at the probably most astonishing place in Vienna, directly next to St. Stephan's Cathedral. The pedestrian area is full of live, street performers are constantly entertaining and all tourist attractions are within walking distance. The hotel itself is modernly furnished with this extra "design-touch" that worked out really well.
The bed is phenomenal and the rainforest-shower a hit. The breakfast buffet is delicious and offers everything you need. It's really cosy sitting in the restaurant while watching the Cathedral being lightened by the rising, orange sun. The staff is really helpful, friendly and charming. No dull, trained sentences as having discovered so often in other hotels in Vienna. Natural hospitality.
The prices are not that low (EUR 240/room), but considering what you receive they seem fair enough. I would recommand this hotel to everyone, from the one-night stayer to the business corporate as, honestly said, this hotel has the potential of becoming the "home" in Vienna.

This hotel, which faces onto Vienna's cathedral, Stefansdom, is slapbang in the middle of the innere Stadt which makes just about everything you'd want to see within walking distance assuming you don't mind walking. (We walked for example to the Belvedere, St Karl's church and also the Hundertwasser houses.) So it scores first of all on location. However that's also a slight drawback as the hotel is therefore situated in a very busy square with a lot going on, including during the week we were there a number of small and admittedly very peaceful political protests, all in addition to thronging crowds of tourists and street entertainers.
If you've ever been to Piccadilly Circus in London, you'll have an approximate idea of the atmosphere of the square, although Stefansplatz probably isn't quite as busy. The soundproofing is excellent but you can still hear a fair bit of ambient noise from the square and you'll also hear at considerable volume (!) the bells of the cathedral right across from the hotel. At least that's how it was for us - I think some other reviewers may have had less of a problem. I can't though understand why, since I think all the rooms face onto the square. Anyone concerned about this should check for sure.
Service was the best we've experienced - fast, courteous without being fawning and just generally incredibly efficient. If staff said they'd do something for you, they did, and quickly.
The room was great, bed comfortable, there was a widescreen B&O screen facing the bed, wellstocked but very expensive minibar and so on. Did find the bathroom basin and showers a bit hard to figure out - if you go there, you'll see what I mean!
Best meals we had during our stay were in the hotel and the food although very expensive was first rate. We probably ate best in the hotel.
We really, really liked this hotel and its staff.

Where to begin?
Up to now my favourite European hotels would have probably been the Urban in Madrid or Manchester's Lowry with the more old fashioned Danielli in Venice close behind. However another has now shown its face. We have just returned from a wonderful stay in this fabulous hotel. Unusual it may be and not cheap but this really is a bit of a dream place.
Our room (402) was not particularly large but it is beautifully designed and has excellent facilities - very contemporary furnishings and a quirky approach with a separate shower-room and toilet away from each other sandwiching the wash basin area. The best most fully equipped mini (?) bar ever, jam packed with goodies from Viennese hand made chocolates to hand made crisps and a variety of luxury nuts. The telly was an amazing piece of technology and offered a complete entertainment experience in its own right. The video selection was impressive.
The bed linen is as luxuriant as it gets and you have every other sort of facility on tap including a Dell laptop for your convenience with full broadband access. What really makes the room special though, is the view. Only in KL where our room overlooked the Petronas Towers have we had anything like this as the view is totally dominated by the immediate presence of St Stephans Cathedral in all its magnificence. Awe inspiring and always there. It is very tempting to never leave your room.
That though is just the start.
Do and Co is blessed with the very best management and staff - we cannot over praise them. Super efficient and friendly they just cannot do enough for you. And this goes right throughout the hotel as far as the cleaners who do out your room to the doormen. The bar staff and the catering staff and the waiters and waitresses. This is a brand new hotel and being there was like being right at the beginning of something special!
The bar is great. It has an even better view than our bedroom being high ceilinged - panoramic is an under statement. We loved the fact that an area of the best seating is retained for hotel guests despite the huge pressure from other guests. It is a busy lively in demand bar - clearly the place to be seen in Vienna. Above is the superb restaurant with a magnificent wine list rarely betetred in my experience of top hotels world wide. The selection of Austrian wines is incredible.
The hotel is strange in that access to the two hotel floors is by lift and means that you enter directly from the street without connection to the reception. So you come and go without any reference to the rest of the hotel.
No I am not a shareholder and have no connection to the hotel management though I would not be averse to an investment in a company that will go far.
Two gripes - as with most of Vienna this is an awful place for non smokers and frankly this hotel is only marginally better than most in ignoring the needs of the non smoker. Austrians have a dreadful approach to smoking and it is almost impossible - other than in Museums and art galleries - to avoid third party inhalation of cigarette smoke. Most restaurants have no non smoking area and if they do they are right at the back and generally ignored. Even at the airport, no smoking areas are only partially respected.
The second gripe is that few people seem to realise that Do and Co is ahotel and not just a restaurant and bar. This even applies to the best known guide books.
Believe me, this IS a hotel and one to be taken very seriously as a model for the future and Do and Co's will, I am sure, within the next ten years, start to become a fixture in other major cities throughout Europe.

After staying in fancy, antique boutique hotels for two weeks, it was a refreshing change of atmosphere staying at the Do&Co. The staff was extremely friendly and very thoughtful. Our room was large with a nice big jacuzzi tub and a lovely view of the church. The bar is a fun place to sit and visit and be inspired by the beauty of the surroundings. It is a little difficult for taxis to get you to the front door of the hotel however and that is really the only minor flaw. Awesome place! Would definitely stay here again...

Enjoyed everything about this hotel. Great location for sightseeing.
Nice bar and restaurant.
Room was very cozy and the design was fresh. Try and get one of the rooms with jacuzzi - highly recommended.
