Just returned from a 4 night stay at Hotel Puro. I left with pretty mixed feelings.
The common areas are worn. My guess is that they are probably rethinking the 'white everywhere" color scheme. The floors were dingy and worn. The walls were marred in several places. The roof top deck was very nice and relaxing. It was in excellent condition. The splash pool was small (hot tub size), but also in good condition.
The actual room was stylish and clean. The air conditioning worked well. The TV/ Stereo had the best sound system I have ever experienced in a hotel room. It was a little dark with the only window facing an inner courtyard.
Hotel Puro does have an excellent, central location in Palma. There were several bars/restaurants close. (I highly DO NOT recommend the restaurant called FORN.... about 5 doors down from Hotel Puro... WORST MEAL EVER!!!!)
I definitely can understand the complaints about the music at night. We were on the 4th floor and still heard the base until about 5 am in the morning.
Went to Puro Beach one day and it was very nice... well worth the 20 euros. The shuttle did not run, but the taxi bill (10 euros each way) was deducted from our bill. We also went to Virtual Beach at Illetas. It was not any less expensive and not at nice. The only advantage was the access to swim directly in the Med.
All and all I thought it was pretty average. Given the rate I paid for the room I probably would not stay there again on my next trip to Mallorca.

Being an event organiser I had hired out the 'exclusive' beach club on twice last summer and had been told that the hotel was amazing and I really MUST stay there. When we first arrived, all seemed fine, however when we got to our room my heart sank. Maybe I'm not 'zen' enough, but a few major comforts seemed to be missing including draws so we had no where to put our clothes (but don't worry, there is a yoga mat!!!). I requested the particular room (43) as it claimed it had a bath - the bath was so small you had to sit bolt upright and there was no mirror over the sink so my boyfriend couldn't shave the whole time we were away. It was extremely hot and the air conditioning was broken. The decor was extremely tired and there was very little sound on the television (something which I mentioned repeatedly during my stay and nothing was done about it). The breakfast was extremely poor quality with little variety. The beach club itself was grubby with the first thing you see when you arrive is the rubbish bins (a lot can happen in a year), and hotel guests still have to pay to access the club (although at a reduced rate). If you miss the shuttles from the hotel (only five pax per time, once an hour), it costs €20 in a taxi to get to the beach club and so for two people that's an additional €80 per day expenditure (including access to the beach club and return taxis). The staff at both the hotel and beach club are so into themselves and how they look its a wonder they get any work done at all. The only relaxing part of the hotel was arriving at the airport to go home. The Puro brand has a limited shelf life and it's just about to expire....

We have just returned from spending 5 days in Palma at the Puro Hotel. First impressions were great. The hotel looked exactly like the website and did not disappoint at all. The reception staff greeted us quickly and very very professionally with all the polite manners you could wish on your arrival. We were showed to our rooms, which were 46 and 47 (on the 4th floor). Room 46 was considerable bigger than room 47, which was baffling as both were supposed to be standard double rooms. The rooms are comfortable with lovely décor, however there is no wardrobe space at all and drawers are to and absolute minimum. On closer inspection there’s not enough pillows for the bed, slight chippings to some of the furniture and the feather-covered circles above the bed are going yellow from dust (I assume). For a hotel that is decked in white furnishings it really cannot afford to not pay attention to keeping on top of these small but noticeable things. Still… we were excitable and decided to unpack
quickly and investigate our new playground for the next few days. We of course wanted to book the Beach club immediately so as not to miss
out. To our delight the hotel had already took the courtesy of booking the beach club ready for our first full day there. Great we thought! All geared up to a sun loving first day.
The first day started with breakfast, which was an average selection of food set out on the bar. From what I can remember a selection of mini pastries, 2 types of bread, cold meats, Salad, fruit, yogat, cheese, cereal, juices, milk, water and whatever coffee you required.
The only thing you had to pay extra for was any kind of egg breakfast, which I did think was a little poor. Surely eggs aren’t that expensive… I thought but still from a boutique hotel with these room rates I would have expected a little more for no extra charge.
So we happily continued to the Beach club for 11:30am and were absolutely blown away. This place is truly amazing and you can understand why it was reported to be 1 of “The 5 Best Hotels with Beach Clubs in the world” by The Independent. You are shown to your sun lounger and then delivered a welcome tray, which consists of 2 bottles of water, fresh fruit, and facial sprays. In the heat of the afternoon you are brought an ice fruit shot and a cool face towel to freshen up. The staffs here were very attentive and constantly circle
the lounges for your every whim. The beach club also offers lunch/
dinner poolside or restaurant, spa treatments or just indulgent drinks and cocktails. We experienced all during our 3 visits to the fabulous place and were not disappointed. However the beach club does not come without it’s own price. The admission is 40 euros per person, per day, although half price for hotel guests. And as you can imagine the pricing for food and drinks isn’t shy either. But this beach club really is worth the visit. Full of glamorous indulgent couples and 25yr + that enjoy the finer things in life. It has to be experienced if you come to Palma.
On the last day we did experience the hotels roof terrace, which was great for solitude and to cool down in the plunge pool, although it did get rather hot as there was no breeze (compared to the beach club) whatsoever.
On reflection a really lovely hotel that just needs twicking to give guests the best possible stay and value for money. We were extremely glad that we stayed on the 4th floor as on a couple of nights the busy bar could be heard, this was soon drowned out by the air con though. The hotel and beach club day music should also be changed regularly as even for a “House” music lover this become monotonous. I was gagging for some good big beats for the afternoon and evening.
I would recommend this hotel for a little “lording it up”, but if the
uber cool hotel does not appeal or if the budget doesn’t allow, then at least try and experience the Beach Club. On return to this part of Palma I would definitely like to try another hotel (out of curiosity) but would return to the Beach club instantly.

There is no way that this is a 5 star hotel, more like 3. Reception staff were inattentive at best - when we arrived one on the phone was making a credit card purchase whilst we were kept waiting. Our room was not ready, understandably as we were early. We were told we would have to wait 5 minutes, then a further 15. 30 mins later when I enquired the reception staff had forgotten to tell us - probably on the phone again.
The bedroom was public areas were ok but not great and several aspects of the hotel are shabby eg the door handle in our room was hanging loose - hardly 5 star.
The restaurant, whilst very interesting, did not live up to its reputation but the young (male) waiter was charming, attentive and definitely the most professional person we met there.
The most positive thing in the location.
For this price I expected a lot more.

We spent 3 nights at Puro. Our impression was overall good. Let me just tell you that I m portuguese born and the girl at the reception called Rachel although born in France is actually portuguese so I think we did get a little "extra". Rooms are nice and ours was particulary nice with a huge and beautiful bathroom all in black and with windows. It s all about style, fashion, glamour, etc. Of course rooms aren t that functional. But what to expect from a hotel like this? Location is nice in downtown Palma. Breakfast is poor.
The Beach Club is even more fashion then the hotel itself, it s all about your image, but why not play the game and enjoy?!
Recommend the hotel and the beach club to singles and couples up to 40 years.
