Excellent location, once you get over the shock of the size of the rooms

Paris is a beautiful city...we drove from Geneva to Paris in approx. 5 hours and looked forward to checking in at the Monna Lisa. First impressions were disappointing. There isn't a reception desk...for a supposed 4* hotel you would expect one. However there a small table with a welcoming smile. The various receptionists (we saw 4 in 2 days) were all EXTREMELY helpful, courteous and kind. They went beyond their receptionist duties. This is what really counted.
After about 10 mins we were given our key cards and went up to our rooms on the 1st floor....TINY is the word I'd use to describe them. We had read someone's review about the 'super jet shower,'....There was a jet shower but the water just dribbled out. It wasn't all that! Once we got over the shock of the size of the rooms we wandered out to explore...The Champs Elysees is a mere 3 minute walk away - An ideal location.
Once you get to the Champs Elysees you need to turn right and you can see the Arc de Triomphe (also the nearest metro station there)...about a 10 min walk. If you're there for the weekend, I'd recommend the red open top double decker buses than the metro. It's a 2 day pass and you can hop on, hop off. The buses run very frequently, but note the exact location of the bus stops.
Overall summary, the Monna Lisa is more of a 2/3 star hotel with a 5 star service. The staff are extremely helpful, especially the breakfast staff, who go out of their way to cater for your every need. A quick note on the breakfast: fresh orange juice, a choice of hot drinks (capuccino, tea, hot choc), sweet croissants, buns, dried meat, cheese, cereal, fruit salad).
If you want a real 4 star hotel don't stay here. If you want a comfortable bed for the night and want to be right in the centre of the city and get great advice/tips on sight seeing stay here. It's cheaper than other hotels in the area.
Would I recommend the Monna Lisa? Yes, for the location. There are 4 bedrooms on one floor. The rooms are very small, especially the ones left of the elevator. The 2 rooms in front of the elevator are bigger. The room on the right of the elevator is a twin room and is okish in size. Would I stay again? Maybe if I got the bigger room. Would I pay an extra 30 Euro per night for a bigger hotel in a real 4 star? Yes
Hope you found this helpful. At the end of the 2 days we had had a lovely time in Paris and due to the great smiling faces at the hotel forgot about the size of the room! Have fun in Paris.

The location you can't beat. With the prices of Paris' cool Hotels being astronomical, this hotel is a pretty decent value. The rooms are cozy, typical of a Paris Hotel. Excellent room design and quite possibly the best shower I have had in a room... EVER. It was one of those with jets on the side, and above. Must have been 6 or 8 jets and after a day of walking around Paris, This is exactly what you need! I would recommend if you aren't planning on kicking it in your room all day.

The location of the hotel is good, in as much as it is just off the Champs Elysees, but the accomodation itself, in our experience, was far, far too small. We stayed in a 'classic double' room, which was absolutely tiny. With a double bed in the room the remaining floor space left you tip toeing around the bed and the size of the room the toilet was in has to be seen to be believed!! Overall it had a certain charm, but get a suite or leave I personally wouldn't bother!!
