I saw this hotel on trip advisor, so I felt comfortable booking it. Althought the staff was friendly and the rooms were clean, I wouldnt recommend it for the price. The room we stayed in had a shower drain that didnt work, and drained to slowly to shower in. When I told the person working at the front desk, her response was "yes, this is not the first time this has happened" From her reaction, I could tell it wouldnt be the last. She explained that to fix it they would have to rip out the shower, and it didnt seem like that was an option.
Fortuneatly right before we left for Paris, I was able to change hotels 3 of our 4 nights to a hotel closer to the area we wanted to stay in and we only spent one night at this hotel. The hotel we found was in a much better location, was very clean, with a good breakfast just as included with Des Gobelins, for 40 Euro less!!

We stayed here for 6 days in June 2008 and were very happy with our stay. The internet connection is not convenient, since they said that there was free access in the lobby, but failed to say that it was the restaurant's next door, so it turned off later in the evening. Couldn't use our laptop so we had to use their computer in the lobby which didn't work well. But we traveled with our 2 year old and the pack and play they provided was excellent. (Although I'm sure his crying some nights disturbed our neighbors. Can't attest to the thick walls.) The staff were incredibly friendly and made our stay in Paris very personal. They let us keep our stroller out of sight in the lobby so it wouldn't take up our hotel room. The lobby was nice and the elevator (while slow) made getting our bags to the room much easier. The room was big for European standards and the bathroom was recently renovated and very big. The location was ideal - sharing a block with a fantastic Italian restaurant (Cesar's) and a good cafe. It was a ten minute walk to Rue de Mouffetard with a fruit market, excellent cafes and a playground for our son. We took walks to Luxembourg Garden (35 minutes), Jardin des Plantes (6 minutes), Notre Dame (40 minutes) and had a wonderful stay! Highly recommended.

It was a great choice to stay at this hotel and all of the attendants at the front desk were very nice. One of them was even nice enough to show us how to get to Notre Dame on foot through this great street market up to the front of Notre Dame. We had booked two rooms and they both had a beautiful view of the street below, not to mention the fabulous Pastry show across the street with the best strawberry creme pastry ever! close to subway but I don't suggest taking the subway to or from the airport to the hotel It's a very long trip and lots of stairs. The bathrooms were remodeled and very nice however the shower/tub was quite awkward with a wall that wasn't keeping the water from going outside the tub, and no shower curtain. Very quaint and clean. Highly recommend for travelers who like to explore. It's located in the latin quarter near lots of Cafes.

reasonable hotel in Paris

Have not stayed in Paris before and so have nothing really to compare this with. Rooms clean if a little dated, bathrooms recently refitted and as others have said large. Breakfast room is very tiny and creates a few problems although food is fine. Staff excellent, nothing too much trouble. Would recommend staying here.

Rooms are basic with minimal decoration but clean and comfortable. We had a room on the sixth floor, the bathroom was small but we had views of the Eiffel, Pantheon and Notre Dame! Though we were street facing I was not bothered with any noise and am a light sleeper.
Breakfast was included for us and quite pleasant. The food is fresh and satisfying. I would suggest starting earlier, say before 9am as the room can be very crowded as typical of Parisian eateries.
The front desk was very warm and pleasant and helpful.
R. Mouffetard is very close by. We headed there for meals often. We also liked that the B line of the RER was close by so that we could more easily head to CDG.
Wifi, like other Parisian hotels, is free and available but usually only strong enough on the lobby floor.
