We stayed at this property for a "girls' night" and were very impressed. It has lots of extras (3 free happy hour drinks, free soda, popcorn, chips and salsa, veggies, snack mix, etc., free breakfast, wifi, and more!). The beds were very comfortable also. We did hear some hallway noise from kids running, etc, but it was nothing out of the ordinary. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in town.

We stayed at this hotel while traveling for the Thanksgiving holidays. As is typical from my experience, this Drury Inn was clean and well maintained. The staff were helpful, there was free soda and popcorn in the lobby and the family felt safe and secure.
Two problems were noted during our one night stay. First, both beds were very soft...to the point that I would consider the mattresses and springs to be ready for disposal. It was difficult to sleep, and I ended up with a sore back that lasted for three days.
The second problem was the free internet. The wireless signal was so weak that no connection could be made. I have often found Drury Inns to provide both wireless and ethernet connections, but in this room only wireless was "available". If it had not been so late when we checked in, this would have been a major inconvenience.
Based upon my experiences, I will continue to stay in Drury properties, but will avoid the property in Marion.

What a great place at a great price! The staff was friendly, $$ was right, indoor pool and hot breakfast! Rooms were clean and showers were hot. Located right off the highway so it was easy to find.

In a word--Wonderful! and worth the money! Attentive customer service, great amenities, courteous staff, very comfortable beds, convenient mcrowave and refrigerator, loved the pool and spa. Everything was very clean, enjoyed the hot breakfast , free beverages and snacks. It was a nice mini-vacation at an attractive hotel great price and will definitely stay there again! Only 20 minutes to SIU Carbondale campus. This was my alternate hotel choice--I'm very glad I made the switch after being disappointed at another hotel.

My son and I came down to Carbondale for Orientation at SIU. We had looked around online for a room in Carbondale, but the only half way decent rooms available were at the Hampton, and they only had a room with one double bed available for a lot more money than we spent at the Drury.
We went back and forth,"should we pay the money to be closer" or go ten minutes out and have what we really wanted in the first place?" I am so glad we chose the latter.
From the moment we walked through the doors we felt welcome. The desk clerks on all shifts were friendly and very helpful. The rooms were spotless, well lit, and everything was in good working order. The beds were a tad soft, but more because they were overly pillow-topped, than because they were worn. We had no trouble sleeping comfortably. There were plenty of towels in the bathroom, and the shower head was great. They also give you 60 minutes of free long distance per night!
The breakfast buffet was ample and delicious. We had our choice of several hot and freshly made entrees, as well as cereal, yogurt, muffins and bagels. My favorite was the Make your own waffles. Not frozen, but batter that I poured into a waffle iron!
There is a pool and Jacuzzi which was wonderful after driving 51/2 hours from our home in Gurnee.
All and all, I can't imagine bothering to stay anywhere else in the area. The Drury Inn, Marion will always be my SIU home away from home.
