Recently my family had a formal event in Houston. We have never stayed in a Drury Inn but decided to give it a try because it was near the site of the formal event. This hotel provided us a wonderful experience. The management was extraordinary. They were there for us and even knew our names before we left after three days. The location was perfect ~ very near the Galleria, near an interstate with easy access and provided easy parking for us. The room was clean and provided a pleasant atmosphere. My only suggestion for the Drury Inns would be an update in bedding.
If you are looking for a reasonably priced, clean, great for the family atmosphere , and great ammenities~ this is the place for you.

I stayed here for work and it was ample, but far from nice. The hotel exterior is especially unsightly for the Galleria area - it looks like the hotel was built in the 1970s. The inside was somewhat nicer, but still nothing exciting. A previous reviewer had commented that there was all new furniture, but if this is true, I couldn't tell.
I stayed in a room with two double beds and it was incredibly cramped. The room had a huge over-sized recliner that I could have done without, since it left nowhere to store my suitcase. Luckily I was traveling for work and I only needed one bed, so I had my suitcase on the bed I wasn't sleeping in. The rooms do have mini-fridges and microwaves, so that's a plus.
The bathroom is an okay size, and they have the sink and vanity area separate from the toilet and bathtub, which is nice if you are traveling with multiple people. The complimentary toiletries leave something to be desired - they give you shampoo but no conditioner.
The free breakfast was adequate, but the breakfast area is fairly small, so it was difficult to maneuver around at the same time as multiple other guests. There are also very few tables in the dining area, and the tables a very close together, so you have to be careful not to bump into them. A larger person would definitely have trouble getting around the tables.
The free manager's reception in the evening is nice, although you are limited to three drinks, and the snacks consist of goldfish, pretzels, tortilla chips, salsa and processed cheese.
The pool is actually kind of nice - it's not huge, but it is partially indoors and partially outdoors, so you have a choice of swimming with or without sun.
All in all, it is an okay hotel. Nothing really special, but not horrible either.

We'll be trying more Drury Hotels, after positive experiences at the Drury Galleria and at another Drury in San Antonio. My husband and I are recent retirees who love travelling around the US, and -- because we travel with our poodle -- we have become very familiar with the various hotel/motel chains. In this group, the Drurys that we have visited compare very well. The rooms were unusually comfortable and very clean (something that is not, unfortunately, always the case at chains). The staff was friendly and helpful, both when we made the reservation and during our stay. And the prices are highly competitive. We will be seeking out Drury Hotels in the furure.

Decent for an overnight stay

We needed a place to stay overnight in Houston that was pet friendly. Although the hotel wasn't new, it was clean and comfortable. The location was convenient. It works for an overnight stay, but I'm not sure if I'd want to stay there for an extended period of time on a vacation.
Great all the way around

Went to Houston this past weekend to spend some time with friends. Drury Suites offered great location and price, clean and spacious rooms, and excellent customer service.
Located conviniently near Galleria Mall. Need a car to get there or a cab will cost you just a few bucks.
The suite was very clean and spacious with 2 TVs, microwave and a mini-fridge. Breakfast buffet is complimentary and offered a very good selection of items.
Staff was very pleasant and always eager to assist.
Overall, a great experience all the way around.
Will definetly stay again next time in Houston.
