We needed a pet friendly hotel and Drury Inn fits the bill. Their advertising says the extras aren't extra, and they're true to their word. The rooms were clean, the staff was nice and helpful. The bed was comfortable. The didn't charge extra for the dog or the two cots. There was free popcorn and soda in the lobby, free drinks in the evening and a free breakfast in the morning. Really a good place to stay.

We've had a lovely experience at the Drury. We were greeted by a super friendly staff and quickly checked into our room - a king suite with a pull out sofa. The room was very clean and spacious. I'm very picky about the hotels we choose because we have crawling babies. I didn't worry about them crawling around our room. The bathroom was nice with the bowed out shower rod. The king bed was very comfortable and the linens were soft.
The evening reception was also really nice. We were headed out of the hotel during the reception, but took a moment to grab a soda and a snack for the children. The breakfast was very good. The food was fresh and tasty and replenished quickly.
The best part of our stay was the staff. We were in town because of a funeral and needed extra time at the hotel before checking out. They gave us an extra two hours without batting an eye. The morning after checking in, I went to the front desk and asked for an extra bottle of shampoo and when I walked up, the lady behind the desk remembered my name and greeted me with an exuberant hello!
I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a nice hotel and a reasonable price. We'll definitely be back!

First: Location: The directions on the hotel website simply say I-40 Exit 217. Well, with as many buildings (restaurants, hotels, mall, and businesses) in the area, this needs a little clarification. It is on the SOUTH side of I-40, on the WEST side of High Point Road (or right side if travelling south), just beyond Waffle House behind the mini-strip mall.
The hotel is in a soup of businesses: Waffle House, Carabbas, Ramada Inn, another motel whose name I can't remember, behind a mini-strip mall, across from Sheraton and a shopping mall, etc. HOWEVER, it is also close enough to downtown, just a short drive, to enjoy downtown Greensboro but have a nice hotel to stay in just outside of downtown.
The parking is accessed with your room key, which raises and lowers one of the dual-armed (in and out) bars. NOTE: when checking out do NOT just leave your key in the room; you'll need a key to get your car out of the lot. HOWEVER, the keyreader seems to have trouble reading keys on most mornings so you'll have to punch the help button anyway. It may not be a rolling bar gate, but if the worst should happen at least the thieves cannot get away with your car unless they bust through the gated-arm.
This is second time staying at a Drury Inn because I like their amenities (HOT full breakfast--eggs, sausage, biscuits, make-your-own huge waffles, juices, coffee, soft drinks, fruit, cereals, breads, etc., indoor/outdoor pool, fitness room, computer access--WiFi and single computer station in the lobby, etc.).
NOTE: the front rooms on the upper floors open onto the lobby, so it you're looking for a quiet room be sure to ask for something in the back.
The rooms are well-appointed and might be a step below a Marriott, maybe, but VERY nice rooms with micro and mini-fridge hidden in the cabinetry and of course HD TVs with CATV. The heat/AC is run by a thermostat on the wall connected to a window heat/AC unit. It was a liitle cool at night so I turned on the heat, which seemed to come on as much as it was off, which really seemed to dry out the room and made it hard to sleep (but probably no more so than other hotels with the same system).
The hotel staff was pleasant, friendly and helpful. I would stay here again, definitely!

Having never stayed in a Drury hotel, we were very pleasantly surprised by the clean and spacious rooms - we had a large king suite with pull out sofa. The bathroom was new looking and spotless, but on the small side.
The many free extras (any size dog OK, evening drinks, WIFI, fridge, hot breakfast, 1 hour long distance, etc.) do make the Drury stand above other mid priced lodging.
The staff at this location, from the front desk to the woman helping serve breakfast, were possibly the friendliest ever encountered in a chain hotel.
A definite winner!
