I stayed here during a conference, the lectures of which were also held in the hotel. It is a very pleasant hotel, with a location within a ten-minute or so walk from the town centre. Hotel was very clean and bright, breakfast buffet was very good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. On the downside, the hotel does not have much character and I could imagine getting quite bored with it after more than a couple of days. Also there were no tea/coffee-making facilities in the room itself, which is a pity. Otherwise, the facilities in the room were good (and I liked the little touch of a mini-packet of Gummi bears instead of a chocolate on the pillow!) and I would recommend the hotel for conference/business events or short stays in Potsdam.

Stayed at the Dorint Sanssouci four days with wife and daughter end of July 2007 (had a Junior Suite, 2nd floor). We definitely felt official four star (resp. four star plus) ranking of this hotel inadequately low. House keeping, room standard (e. g. air conditioning) and wellness area in the Dorint Sanssouci were superb, unreached by many/most five star hotels we have visited before. However, there are two reasons, why we subjectively would rank this hotel six stars: 1) The hotel personnel: It´s not just perfect service, but we met real human beings, making you feel comfortable as soon as you enter the hotel and whom to meet and speak to in all areas (reception, room service, wellness area, restaurant) was a real pleasure! 2) The location: Within ca. 600 m radius around the hotel, we found the entrance to the biosphere, parc “Neuen Garten”, the “Potsdam Brandenburger Tor” (downtown shopping area) and “Schloss Sanssouci” (and there is presumably much more within walking distance since we had just 4 days). This is simply marvellous for anyone who loves to walk a bit (and at least sometimes leave his car within the garage). There are many stunning places on earth. Potsdam, Germany is one of them and here The Dorint Sanssouci is definitely our 1st choice. Highly recommended!
