I know it is right on the M1, but we were allocated a back room and even with the window opened we had no noise issues.
The receptionists were very friendly and helpful, and there was snacks, drinks and even ice cream available. Reception had a couple of sofas and soft chairs and a big TV if you were desperate to get out of your room.
The room and bathroom were very clean and the TV had lots of channels inc Sky Sports.
We paid ?30.00 directly thru the hotel site (for a bank holiday Sunday night) and this proved fantastic value for money.
We used this location as we were attending a footie game in Sheffield, but also easily had a trip to the Peak Dstrict as access is really easy from here.
All in all great value

A very cheap hotel!! The only problem is that it is very hard if you are coming from the South to get to the hotel, we were we had to go and find a junction, cross the motorway..... and when we were getting to Sheffield from the hotel. The main bad points were:
Noisey, but they do have triple glazed windows
You must have a car to get there
Lack of bars, there is one if you walk down a little country road near the service station.
Good points:
Very cheap it was only ?100 for 4 people for 2 nights.
Near Barlbourgh, a lovely country village
Ideal for motorway travellers
Freindly staff
Clean rooms.
I would recommend this hotel but you must have a car.
Good value for money

Stopped here for one night in December as it was located near the venue for a Birthday bash we were attending on the Saturday. Also the other half wanted to take in some shopping at the Meadowhall on the Sunday and this hotel was only 15 mins drive away from there.
The price was excellent value, only £42 in total for the 2 of us which included a continental breakfast.(Booked this via laterooms as this was the only site that included the breakfast at this cost).
Rooms are similar to your typical travelodge but a good feature of this room was the larger than average (for a hotel) TV and the inclusion of sky sports.
You also get a free Independent newspaper each day which is an added bonus.
Ok, the niggles first.
1) The hotel was close to the M1 so some road noise could be heard during the night. However I guess this depends on what side of the hotel the room was situated. I still slept ok though.
2) Although the room was clean, there was a funny stain on the sofa in the bedroom which was a bit off putting.
3) The shower was red hot and I struggled to find a way to get the temperature below "hoo haa" heat.
4) The hotel is relatively close to Meadowhall shopping centre, which resulted in me being dragged around numerous clothes shops with my other half on the Sunday. I guess if your female this will come under the "good points" category, but as I'm male it's a bad point.
Now for the good points:
1) Hotel is conveniently located for Sheffield and surrounding areas.
2) Staff friendly (didn't grumble when I asked for more coffee for the bedroom).
3) Room features good, such as sky tv, plenty of tea/coffee (and shortbread biscuit) and towels.
4) Only a 30 second walk to the petrol station if you want to grab a paper. (The hotel reception area also sells crisps, chocolates etc and drinks).
5) Room was clean, despite dodgy stain on sofa.
6) If you forget any toiletries the hotel will provide these free of charge. Thankfully this time I remembered to pack my toothbrush, so in this instance the other half gave me a good night kiss as opposed to just a hand shake.
7) The breakfast is brought to your room at the time you request it and is very good.
Consisted of a large coissant, some nice yoghurt, freshly squeezed orange juice, bowl of cereal and some fruit.
8) The price. At £42 for all that lot it was excellent value for money and I can recommend this hotel if you want something footloose and fancy free....that serves a good breakfast!

This is a no frills motorway stop motel. Rooms are clean and well equiped. There is not restauarant or bar. At the main service area there is a McDonalds KFC and sandwich bars. Friendly staff and cheap rooms! Main downside is you are stuck on the motorway isolated from any town, high street or places to walk.

Located on the M1 I expected this hotel to suffer from road nosie but it doesn't. Rooms are a good standard and well equipped. Four people room for 45 Pounds is a good deal. Hotel is on Southbound side of M1.
