Never trust a Hotel that insists you pay in full, in advance!!

The hotels web page advertisment is deceiving! Hotel Beaugrenelle is not all like it is depicted. When we decided we didn't want to stay, the hotel clerk was rude and did not want to credit our account. They insisted we pay in full at check-in. This should have been a red flag warning!!
This hotel is a really good find

Recently stayed at this hotel for 2 nights with 3 other couples. We all had excellent rooms, very clean and comfortable. Bed and bathroom size were quite spacious. Location was great, we walked to Eiffel Tower and surrounding attractions and used the metro and open-bus tours to get around town. Easy return to Charles De Gaulle airport via metro and RER. The staff were very helpful every time we asked for advice. Breakfast was OK but don't leave it too late as your options run out. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

Wow.. The rooms were soooo small, I can't even describe it. It had 2 single beds pushed together and roughly a foot or 2 on each size before the walls.. The bathroom was tiny also.. It was outdated, the wires stuck out from the night stand where the phone was (not sure what they were for...) The description of the hotel on the website says that it is less than 1 km from the Eiffel Tower. No. You have to walk a few blocks to get to the Metro, get off at the next stop and walk another 5 minutes or so to get to the Eiffel. It was just fine for us, just pointing out the mislead..
Not too much to say about the city itself because I did not enjoy it.. The people were rude (I speak french Fluently). They would speak in french amongst themselves which I could understand, they were not very helpful and those that were, weren't very friendly about it. I was at a store wanting to buy Gucci sunglasses and they stared at me from afar, I guess to see how long it took before I left (maybe it's a game I'm not familiar with).. The food isn't that great for my taste. Everything is VERY expensive..
I did like the old architecture of the city, the churches and the Monuments, Champs Elysees at night was beautiful and so was the Eiffel (not too impressive during the day).
The hotel itself would be acceptable for back packers or friends that are laid back, but not for a romantic trip to Paris by no means. The food in the morning was: fuit cocktail, corn flakes (reg and chocolate), bread, cheese and lunch meat with the occasional yogurt. Wasn't overly impressed for the money spent.. But it is Paris

Do your research. Not bad, but could do better.
Not a great street, but close to metro station (2 blocks), Eiffel tower( 6 blocks through a nice neighborhood), etc. There is a farmer's market twice weekly under the train tracks. Not a major tourist area. Lots of shops and restaurants and bakeries in the area. The actual street is mainly warehouses, an off track betting establishment, and a large construction project across the street. Did not feel real safe walking back to the hotel at midnight, but no actual problems.
There is a great restaurant on the next street, Le Volant. This was recommended by the front desk clerk. French food, friendly, excellent cuisine and wine list, not too expensive (91 euro for 2), lots of locals.
Room was adequate size. Old, but useable furniture.Satellite TV, but nothing in English-CNN was blocked. Bathroom clean, good linens.
Nice continental breakfast downstairs.
Soda machine in lobby dispenses Heinecken
We arrived at 11:45 AM, but they would not let us check in until 1:30.
In summary, not a bad hotel for the price, but with a little research, you could probably do better

The hotel was in a great location - 10 minutes walk to the eiffel tower and 2 minutes walk to the metro station.
We got a room on the ground floor - the size was good and the room was very clean. Our room was very hot though - the air conditioning didn't do much, however it did cause a sound like a car was parked outside the window with the engine running.
Breakfast was in the basement and average with everything you needed.
Would stay here again because of location.
