We came to visit our son, who is a Marine, and our new grandson. We drove straight through for over 20 hours and arrived at 9:30 a.m. The staff let us check in early which was wonderful! The room was clean. It was facing the main road, but we were so tired we didn't even hear the traffic! Our housekeeper Anna was wonderful. She accomodated all our needs and then some! We will definitely stay here when we come back. I will ask for a room not so close to the entrance to the lounge though. After 3 nights the noise of the revelers was starting to take it's toll. All in all it was a nice inexpensive place to stay!

My bestfriend and I drove from CT to Jacksonville to visit a friend thats in the USMC. We arrived hours early and they let us check in which was great! When we got the room key we were told that our room was outback. We looked at each other and was like [----], theres an outback. We drove outback and went to our room, which was scary! We called it the ghetto and being two 22 year old white females alone we were scared out of our minds! We ended up having to take the STAINED comforter off the bed and sleep with a blanket we brought for the beach. We were so tired we needed to take a nap since we drove straight though and we ended up having to move the table and chairs in front of the door since we were freaked out. We were really thinking of getting a different hotel but everything was booked. When our friend got out of work we made him come over and stay with us for the rest of the week. We ended up having to buy towels because the towels that they suppiled were exteremly small and would barely cover a 10 year old. Also the tacking from the carpeting was put in wrong so when you were to walk to the bathroom you would get staples in your feet. We had to walk around in shoes the entire stay and we slept on top of the blankets. Also everything in the room was crooked, it seemed like a person with 1 eye decorated the room. On top of that there were homeless people knocking on the hotel room doors looking for money and food. There were also alot of odd activity in the rear parking lot where we were staying. We thought it was drug dealing and we were actually scared of being caught in the middle of a shoot out. Other than that the staff was nice. If you do plan on staying at this hotel, make sure you bring bed sheets and comforters and your own towels. We did meet very nice people while staying there that were also on a budget. Also the pictures on line weren't anything like the actual hotel.

I stayed at the hotel for 5 nights and found the accommodations to be excellent. The room was clean and smelled very fresh. Housekeeping staff were thorough and the desk help was professional. The hotel was a bit noisy but I was on the first floor and this was a busy place. My son is in the Marines and I plan on booking another week next year for my whole family. Well worth the price and overall a pleasant experience.

Do not stay at this hotel. My mother-in-law stayed here and we moved her out in the middle of the night because her bed was infested with fleas! We could see them jumping and she was covered with bites. Aside from the fleas, the rooms were extremely dirty, reeked of something awful and did not have temperature control. Do not even think about walking on the moist brown carpet without your shoes on.
Due to the price and the fact that there is a dive bar in the building, it is also a playground for boots fresh out of boot camp, so many of the rooms are full of 5+ marines thumping and breaking things at all hours. Security may also be a concern for solo travelers or families with small children as the hotel is garden style and there were other shady characters lurking in the parking lot and on the balconies at night. The only saving grace about the Days Inn is the Mexican restaurant in front of it, which is one of the only non-chain restaurants in town.
If you're looking for a better place to stay, the Innkeeper (where we moved my relieved MIL after that flea incident) and the Liberty Inn are CLEAN and therefore much better budget choices; if you're willing to pay a little more, Comfort Suites is far superior.

Very poor stay. Our room was not ready at check in. The sheets were stained. There was very limited parking.
