As previously mentioned sleep deprivation is a big problem for this little hotel.
We got room number 201 on the 2nd floor, and it faced the street outside.
Traffic noise was very loud throughout the evening, then after that dies away the music from the bars starts up from about 12 until 3am.
Then if any of the other guests leave early in the morning you can hear every little word or noise they make. We had it at 6am on both mornings we stayed there.
We felt jet lagged when we got home - i would not recommend anyone to stay here.
The decor is a bit tatty but thats livable.
But our shower had no curtain/screen, and the bath took 4 hrs to empty.

Booked it , asked for a confirmation three times , never received any. When we arrived a very rude lady said that there weren' t any rooms and had to stay in another hotel for one night. They had sent us an e-mail the same morning we supposed to be arriving!Of course we were on our way and anyway who reads his mails everyday when he is on vacations?Because of the rudeness of the receptionist and the filthiness and size of the reception (we did not have the chance to see the rooms) we said that we did not want to return there. After all we only had three days in Paris and did not want to spent them in packing and unpacking. The rude lady could not explain in english where the other hotel was and gave us an old map to find it by ourselves.
Anyway you can find cheaper hotels, better situated and in better condition.

We booked to stay for 3 nights in this hotel but only stayed for 2 due to sleep deprivation! As described, the hotel is in a side street and well located for the Metro and an easy stroll to the Louvre but what the reviews failed to mention was that the Hotel is opposite two bars, one with live music, a kebab shop and between two resturants. As the bar users now come outside to smoke, the noise from the revellers continued until the small hours and was soon followed by building work starting on the Theatre Daunou which is being renovated just across the road.
I also found the place souless and the staff seemed unfriendly. Although the Hotel was renovated in 2004 it is already looking shaby with stained headboards and broken tiles. After a sleepless night a refreshing shower would have been good but the small bath had a shower hose but did not have a wall attachment or shower curtain.
The only good things about this hotel are its central location and free internet access is the tiny lounge area.
