Great location
Guest name: ElisaP, Netherlands
We stayed in the hotel for 2 nights. The hotel is perfectly located near the grote markt and the groenplaats and shopping center. Our room had a great view but for a 4* hotel the impression of all furniture and decoration is very old. The breakfast is really good, lot of variety but the first time we took breakfast, the table's were not cleaned and there was nobody to serve us with any drinks. The hostess did everything, sitting at the reception, being responsible for serving the breakfast etc. and therefore it was a little messy. Nevertheless, the hospitality of the hostess and the great location made it worth to stay at this hotel.
Highly recommended

We have just returned from Antwerp where we stayed at the charming Hotel Rubens Grote Markt. We chose this hotel partly for its location in the historic centre, and also because it has only 36 rooms so it is not too big and impersonal. We were not disappointed. We were warmly greeted by the receptionist and offered a drink of sherry or port whilst we checked in. They had a note of our special requests which in our experience is quite unusual. We had booked a Deluxe Atmosphere room which was on the first floor & overlooked a quiet courtyard. It was spacious with large comfortable beds and plenty of wardrobe space. There was a separate toilet & a marble bathroom. It was all very clean. The buffet breakfast, served in a delightful room looking out on the courtyard, was plentiful.
The position was perfect being round the corner from the main square, the Grote Markt and within easy walking distance of all the main attractions and many restaurants. The highlight of the trip was a vist to the Rubenshuis, a 10-15 minutes walk from the hotel.
All the staff were friendly and helpful, and we cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. We would certainly stay there again.

We stayed at the Hotel Rubens on April 25th & 26th 2008. The location of the hotel is great, very close to the older part of town and a 10 minute walk to the shopping district.
Our room was comfortable and clean and had a nice view over a rear garden area (not belonging to the hotel), marred only by some graffitt (swear words) on the opposite wall in clear view.
The air con was either not switched on or did not work so we slept all night with the windows wide open - not a problem as on this side of the hotel was very very quiet.
The decor in the hotel is a bit bland and facilities for the price are lacking. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Staff were friendly enough.
Overall our stay was ok, but we thought Hotel Rubens was expensive for what it offered. You are paying for location here and there is no doubt that it is very well located for the main attractions of Antwerp.

I stayed at the Rubens in Summer 2007 with 2 friends.
The hotel is well located down a quiet side street just off the main square.
The room we had was spacious enough even with an extra bed to cope with 3 people and it was clean and well presented.
The hotel is fairly modern and the staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also very enjoyable with lots of choice.
Overall, a very goods hotel and I would not hesitate to stay there again

Albergo eccellente, ottima posizione
