The Karyatit Hotel is situated not far from Hadrian's gate in a quiet part of the old city (Kaleici), seconds away from the park and a few minutes from the harbour. The hotel has an attractive exterior and all rooms face the inner courtyard and garden. The rooms are small but clean and comfortable. Typical Turkish cuisine, nicely presented around the swimming pool. Helpful staff. We found it good value for money.

A very well located Hotel in the old town, rooms although very small are adequate with a small fridge! The Hotel has a small personal feel and is frequented by middle-aged Belgians who smoke and drink beer all day and eat their meals there, hence they are loved! If you are independent and do not intend to spend your money with them then you will receive a much "cooler" welcome (a typical response in Turkey) .Interestingly, the safe was free to the Belgians but we were made to pay! and were given very cold looks when we drank our own drinks at their sitting spaces upstairs (what is the fridge for then?) The previous comment about orange juice at breakfast is correct, you are offered it but at no time do they tell you that it is an extra, very naughty! On the whole if you are thick skinned you make it a pleasant stay but don't expect a tearful goodbye when you go!

The owners do very little to the hotel. We had to change one of our 2 rooms due to no hot water in the shower. Our other room had a badly cracked wash basin and no hot water. There was no ventilation in the shower so a smell of damp existed. Disinfectant or bleach had never been within touching distance of anywhere within the tiny "ensuite". The owners and there family dominated the so called Tv room and their children the small pool. The staff however were friendly and obliging. In short the owners are playing at it and this place has potential with a caring and business minded couple which these are definitely not.
In addition the breakfast was a joke and a charge for orange juice was added to our bill without any notification. The owners do very little and are damn right lazy. We only ever saw them eating in what was supposed to be the TV room. It was without doubt one of the worst managed hotels we have ever stayed in, t the owners lived under the mis-apprehension that they knew what they were doing, yet they haven't a clue.
this hotel has real potential under the right management!!!

My husband and I have just spent two idyllic weeks at the Karyatit Hotel. Before leaving we arranged with them directly to be picked up from the airport and taken to the hotel as we had never been to Antalya before. We received a very warm welcome from Fatma and all her staff all of whom spoke English (some also speak fluent Dutch). Our room although small was perfectly adequate and was always clean and fresh towels and linen were never a problem. The snack food served was good with the chef pointing us in the right direction to try something different. The hotel although just 2 minutes from the busy city centre of Antalya seemed a million miles away as the quiet surroundings of the Kaleici made the hotel seem as if it was in a quiet village. We can thoroughly recommend the Karyatit and will book directly with them next time for an even better price.
