Driving across country, I was checking for prices at hotels.com, so I also checked review scores. With 15 reviews giving a 4.2 average, I figured it'd be fine. Oops ... After the fact I actually read the reviews. Now I see my mistake. Many were 5s with no accompanying comment. This hotel is your basic old school Days Inn. Small bathroom of tub with shower and toilet, sink outside in the room itself, so a shower develops into a steam bath. Oh, and they'd given away our first floor reservation and tried to help by sending us somewhere else, but didn't give that clerk enough information and the last available room there was given to someone else, even though it had taken less than 5 minutes for us to get there. So we went back and took a smoking king so we could be on the first floor. (traveling with a 5 year old and I dont climb stairs well -- two story hotel, no elevator)
I'll remember to do my researching better next time.

we have stayed here for the last 3 years on our annual trip to america on our motor cycle.the hotel is situated on the quiet side of the street so you dont get noise from the railroad and if you get a room at the bottom end you dont hear the road noise.very clean rooms, courteous staff, handy for a few local resturants we ate at mad dogs diner , a bikers bar which is just round the corner.this was ideal for our kind of stopover very well situated on route 66,we will be back next year

They gave us a room which had not been cleaned. The room looked clean at first
sight, but when we went to bed we discovered some paper towels in the bed sheets
and we realised the sheet had been already used. Maybe the housekeeping thought it looked
clean and thought they could avoid to change the bed sheets! We complained and they moved us to another room with two beds, and one bed has clean sheets..the other one hat again dirty sheets. The Best Western in the same street is more expensive but much much better!

In the course of our journey across the country, we tried to make a reservation here, but the desk clerk put down our reservation on the wrong day, charging our credit card for a night when we hadn't arrived there yet. Neither the desk clerk nor the manager were willing to do anything about the mistake. The manager was particularly unhelpful, at first denying that we had ever had a reservation. We ended up staying across the street at the Best Western.
The hotel rooms themselves may be fine, for all we know, but whether you decide to stay there or not, I recommend that you do not try to make a reservation with them and hold it with a credit card as with any other hotel; it may prove to be an expensive mistake for you as it was for us.
