A Great Stay
Guest name: jdbayshore, SF
My wife and I have been going to S. Lake Tahoe for the weekend of the Kentucky Derby for years now. We always stay at the Days Inn South Shore. The prices are quite resonable, close to everything, and the manager (Melody) and staff are friendly and helpful.

Stayed at the Days Inn over the Presidents Day holiday to do some Skiing at Heavenly. The hotel was only $300 for four nights and it served its purpose perfectly. 3 min. from the ski lifts and about 5-10 min. from the casinos, the location was perfect. The rooms were just as I expected when staying at a Days Inn. One queen bed, good sized bathroom, and very CLEAN! Great place for skiers in the winter months who go to the Tahoe area just for that......to ski.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a couple nights in July. The rest of my extended family had rented a pretty large "ski lodge" style house for the week, but since we were just joining them in Tahoe for a few days, they got us a room here just for those nights we were in town.
The Days Inn is pretty much what you'd expect. If you only need a place to sleep (like we did) for a relatively low rate, this might be an option. The location is pretty good, right off Tahoe Boulevard. I didn't stay here expecting to partake the continental breakfast or hang out by the pool, so if that's what you're looking for, you may want to stay at one of the resorts/casinos. My most important criteria for a cheap place to stay like the Days Inn is that it's CLEAN, which our room was. Although the accommodations were very basic and definitely older, the maid service did a good job and it isn't a depressing place to stay by any means.
As long as you're not expecting the Four Seasons, this is not a bad place to spend a night or two. My family has usually rented various vacation houses, which I would recommend for stays of a week or more (probably cheaper than a hotel/motel anyway), but the Days Inn may be a good option for shorter visits.

Got the room for $53/night on thanksgiving weekend. Not a bad deal for that price. No bathtub, a small bath cubicle in bathroom. The water in the shower was either too cold or too hot, no water came in the middle position. Complimentary daybreak lite breakfast included coffee, tea, yoplait flavoured youghurt, a micro fruit cup, Nutri-Grain cereal bars and cream puffs....no views from the inn..easy access to all spots

had a great stay with this place and we loved the room. staff was great and the service was excellent. my room was clean and compared to the last time they have done some improvments. pillows great and maids got better. i like to say thank you to the manager for remembering me because it is always good to have a business remember their guest. see you next year or maybe in the winter of January.
