Best stay of our trip to USA/Canada

We stayed @ Days Inn Beaches for one week in September 2007. The staff were absolutely by far the most helpful and courteous we came across during our stay in Canada & New York. The room was clean and had everything we required. Commute into Toronto was easy by tram which was available right in front of hotel. There were lovely little restaurants within close walking distance(try the Indian restaurant next door, GREAT FOOD) and a great Irish pub about 2 doors down. Cinema's across the road and a quick stroll to the lake foreshore which was also very beautiful. It was safe, quiet and above all the treatment we received as visitors from another country was fabulous. The complimentary breakfast was also a bonus. There was only one downside and that was if your room was on level 1 there was no lift so you had to carry your bags up 1 flight of steps. The price was great and even though not in the heart of Toronto ,was such an easy 10min ride by tram it was not difficult to get there. Trams ran every 5-10 mins and also were very safe. I travelled into Toronto a couple of time alone and being female was not he least bit scared of doing this. Would recommend this hotel to anyone thinkig of going to Toronto. I was pleasently suprised to read some of the comments made in this forum. I had a wonderful stay in October 2007. My family lives in the beaches area in Toronto and this place provides excellent accomodation and service that I allways expected. I continue to use this hotel for my future trips to Toronto and I highly recommend to others as well. I have stayed at some of other Days Inn hotels in Different parts of Canada, and I must tell you, some are realy bad. But, this hotel is the best for me so far. Some travelers go to basic hotels and expects 5star facilities and services, if you are one of them don't go there, instead, go to Four Seasons and pay $350 to $1000 a night. This hotel is a basic, cleaned and friendly staff and good value for money.

Having read several terrible reviews, my grand-daughter and I chose to stay at Days Inn Toronto East Beaches due to being in a convenient location to visit family members.
Our stay was December 15th to 18th.
We were pleasantly surprised to find the hotel staff very friendly and helpful. The bathroom was spotless, the beds comfortable and the bagels and croissants at breakfast were fresh.
They provided decent coffee and quality jams.
My grand-daughter tells me that the fruit loops were good too!
Based on what we had read we chose an upstairs room and had no mouldy smell. Our room was non-smoking but initially there was a smell of cigarettes, possibly wafting in from the hallway. On Saturday there was some noise from other guests celebrating that Maple Leafs had won their hockey game, other than that, our room was close to the back, facing a quiet side street allowing us to sleep well.
We would stay there again.
Being a Days Inn, the hotel was not fancy but we had a pleasant and comfortable stay.

This hotel was recomended to me by a friend of mine who is a frequent visitor. I used to stay in Down Town Toronto most of my visits, but, I am glad I found this property. Little bit away from the city (about 4 miles to the east). Clean & comfortable rooms at a very reasonable price. I am a travaler who expects value for what I pay and thats what I got from this place. While I was there, my room heater was not effective, I called front desk who immidiately attended to my requests. I do not expect super delux service from a basic hotel, if that is the case, I would be at Four Seasons Hotel. Keep it up Days Inn Beaches, you would certainly see me again.
