We were robbed (literally) at this hotel
Guest name: WearyTravellerBR, Sao Paulo
My wife and I stayed at this hotel many times over the years. It is a good hotel, but the last time we were there our room was broken in and the room safe carried away, containing, needless to say passports, tickets, & valuables. The thieves just walked out with suitcases full of five or six safes!
Not only there is no security at this place, but the hotel simply referred us to their insurance company, which refused to pay (they essentially accused us of having set up the whole caper!). It took us almost two years (!!) and the good services of an old and persistent French friend to finally force the insurance company to partially reimburse us. (We live in Brazil.) He had to threaten to sue before they agreed to pay.
In summary, stay away from this hotel. They don't care at all for their guests. Anybody can walk in and out with your valuables.

Spent four nights at the Hotel de Notre Dame recently. Lovely quaint typically Parisienne hotel in a fantastic location. The Latin Quarter, Notre Dame, The Marais etc are all within walking distance. Room & beds are small but spotlessly clean and comfortable. The exposed beams and stone-work give it lots of charm. Breakfast is basic for 7Euros but as another poster already mentioned the prices in the surrounding cafes are similar for even less! Hotel staff were always polite and pleasant but not overly approachable for recommendations. This was not an issue for us however as we know Paris very well. My only gripe with this hotel was some noise late on Friday and Saturday night coming from the street below and the Long Hop bar on the corner - we were in room 31. The quiet rue maitre albert seems to be suffering slightly from the smoking ban pushing patrons out onto the street and chatting loudly. This was minor however and did not spoil our stay at all. Overall this was a great hotel and I would definitely use it again in the future

We didnt want to spend a lot on a hotel since we didnt plan on spending a lot of time in the room. We focused more on location and noticed this was highly rated on Trip Advisor. The location was perfect. We could walk to a lot of places and the metro was pretty convenient as well. The room is very small which was expected and fine. However it smelled like a combination of smoke and stale air. This was tough with our allergies. Also, for Americans the lack of a shower curtain or door is always disappointing in European hotels and this was the worst we had witnessed as there was no way of not flooding the entire bathroom. The staff was very nice and there is free internet but dont bank on restaurant recs from the front desk.

Just returned from 4 days at this hotel. I spent an age before we went reading reviews and this is the one that stood out. Hotel's in a fantastic location opposite Notre Dame. Very easy to reach by train from the airports or stations. The room wasn't enormous but we didn't go to Paris to stay in the hotel. Plenty of storage space and more importantly - clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Also very close to some great bars and restaurants. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel or to stay here again.

This hotel is so nice. It is very well decorated and clean.
All the staff are very nice and accommodating. They helped us with tourist questions and even booked a shuttle to the airport for us.
The rooms are small, but they are updated and clean.
Most Americans will not like the showers. They had a hose with a shower head on it. There was no shower curtain. This seems to be a European standard.
The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to Notre Dame. It makes it easy to find your way again, you just look for the river. There are lots of nice things to do around the hotel. Take a short walk and see a church that is not in your guidebook, but that is beautiful and historic.
The only reason I did not rate it 5 stars is because the showers did not have curtains.
We paid 120 Euros per night.
