We love this hotel. Everytime we stay in Traverse city we stay in this hotel. They have a great breakfast and the area that you eat in is very spacious and the staff is great. We stayed there one weekend where we got a normal room and didn't think that it was big enough for us. So we talked to the staff and asked them for a bigger room and they moved us with no problems. It is an awesome hotel and I would recommend it to anyone.

My friend and I travel to Traverse City to attend seminars twice yearly. Prior to this we have had the occasional problem, noise, parties, etc. but this time it went a little further. After a three-night stay, the tub was never cleaned, the coffee maker never cleaned, cups with coffee in them not disposed of (and we left them out to see), coffee not refilled. There was no comment card in the room, or we'd have made one! The desk staff was very helpful, immediately brought up coffee when we called. Initially we had to change rooms because the lights didn't work in the bathroom.
I emailed the hotel, Christina Grey, with my displeasure, but complimenting the front desk people.
Never heard back from them, although I continue to get emails asking me to stay there.
I'm currently looking for a different place to stay for the next seminar.

We picked this hotel for several reasons. #1 we were going up north on a whim and because the cherry festival was starting the next day there wasn't much available, #2 We were traveling with a 16month old and as this was his first trip away from home, we wanted a 2 room suite so he could sleep quietly while we watched tv and relaxed in the tub, #3 It is pet friendly.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. We called and booked the room the night before check in and they spoke to my husband for about 20 miniutes telling him everything they had to offer and all about the cherry festival activities.
Because they were all booked up we had to take a smoking room. If you are a non smoker and have ANY other choice, don't brave it. I had a headache almost instantly and with only 1 window to open it didn't do much... but that isn't the hotels fault really.
The room was clean and roomy. It had a refridgerator, coffie pot, microwave and kitchen sink in the living area. As well as a couch, dining table and TV.
The jacuzzi tub was in the bedroom. It was roomy, comfy for both me and my husband to soak in together. However we didn't keep the jets on long because they were so loud that we couldn't hear ourselves talking to eachother. This couldn't have been just our tub as the sound of other peoples tubs kept us up until pretty late.
That leads to my first kind of bad thing to say. The noise was real bad in the hotel. I realize that it isn't going to be quite as home, but i could hear conversations from halfway down the hall. As well as the tubs.
Infact, don't plan on sleeping much at all as the bed quite possible could have been made out of concreate, or just a board of wood. Either way, not very comfy.
If the bed was soft and the tub was quite, then i would have said that the 189 (AAA rate) we paid was resonable, but i wouldn't pay it again. In fact I probably wouldn't stay again just because the bed was that bad.
Other then those things though it was a plesant stay.

My boyfriend and I were looking forward to a nice weekend away just the two of us. We decided to stay at the Days Inn because of its good
reviews. Well lets just say we were both very dissapointed when we got there. The lobby is very nice and clean and the breakfast in the morning was great. The room however was not! We stayed on the second floor in one of the non-smoking rooms and the whole hallway and room reeked! You could tell that they were trying to cover up the bad smell with perfume spray but it did not help at all! The room we had was very outdated and dirty upon arrival! One of the beds had long black head hairs in it and the other bed had sand all over the sheets. It was disgusting. Our tub also had hair in it when we got there. The room definetly needed a good scrub down along with some updating. At 3:30 in the morning I was awakened by the sound of people screaming in the room right next to us. It sounded as if they were having a party next door and they would not shut up. I called down to the front desk and they said they would take care of it. The room quieted down for a little bit but then got louder and stayed loud the rest of the early morning. It was not a good nights sleep at
all. Overall (especially for the price of the room which was $170 a night), it was not worth the money and next time we come to TC we will be looking for rooms elsewhere!

Our bicycling group rented 3 of the Days Inn Suites and were very delighted with what we found. The 2 rooms of each suite were huge, similar to an apartment and MUCH larger than other chain "suite" hotels Each had a large TV. The living area had a refrig, sink, table, chairs and couches plus a murphy bed. Everything was exceptionally clean. The staff was very helpful to us and we needed extra consideration due to a bicycling accident one member had. Breakfast consisted of the usual cold fare and I thought they could have added some hot items. But this was very adequate for us. The playground was quite old and was very inadequate if you expect young children to use it. The pool was fine. One additional plus for us was a back entrance off the main road which permitted us to avoid major traffic on the way to the close by bicycle trail. There is a restaurant on site which was much better than the average and the staff was absolutely super. Overall a very pleasant stay for our group and I would recommend this hotel to families as well.
