We didn't have reservations and the front desk person was very pleasant. Our room was a little dark as it was at the bottom of the stairwell, but it was clean and served it's purpose. We were able to park our motorcycles outside our room and found fellow guests to be friendly.
The guest laundry is small, one washer, one dryer - but both are inexpensive and convenient.
I suggest the Ninja Japanese Steakhouse which is on the otherside of the highway - great eats.

Pay extra for a non-smoking room?

While the room itself was fairly comfortable and it was nice to have a mini-fridge, the management of the hotel leaves much to be desired. After requesting non-smoking rooms via hotwire, we found that we had been assigned smoking rooms. The reason for this is that they charge an additional $5 for nonsmoking rooms and they automatically put online services like hotwire and priceline into the cheapest and least desirable rooms they have. When asked why--because usually smoking rooms require extra cleaning and therefor extra cost--the front desk manager replied that they have more demand for the nonsmoking rooms. So they do it because they can. There are far too many other options in Cedar City to warrant such a cavalier attitude to the guests. Go someplace else.
One more thing: When we checked out at 6am it was very obvious that the night clerk had been heavily asleep and was surly about being awakened by a mere guest, much less a query about getting some of the continental breakfast items early.

The Days Inn, Cedar City, Ut, is a great location for visiting the National Parks, Zion and Bryce Canyons, in Southern Utah. I had read the reviews of other Trip Advisor members and decided this facility was the best for the money but was still hesitant about staying here as it was a "Days Inn." However, it actually was a GREAT place to stay for the three nights we were in S. Utah. Room was imaculately clean and the furnishings were in "like new" condition. They have an indoor swimming pool with hot tub. Although we didn't get a chance to use either. The morning breakfast is available precisely at 0700, and not a minute earlier. The breakfast was a normal continental breakfast with juices/coffee, bagels, cereals and donuts. I would recommend this hotel with anyone on a budget and with children. We had a wonderful visit!

Exterior of hotel was fine, but the room we stayed in was not clean. Bathroom counter looked like it had been missed by housekeeping. The chairs around the table were badly stained and the inside of the door
leaving the motel room was filthy! We also were disappointed that the free continental breakfast didn't start until 7:00a.m. We were long gone by then.

Cedar City is a small strip town stretched out along a highway, and the hotel is at the far end. No problem if you are driving. The hotel was basic but comfortable. We enjoyed the indoor heated pool and spa. Breakfast was inlcuded, however it was the usual basic sweet rubbish such as donuts etc or toast with jam and fake juice and coffee. $94 AUD per night, so was at the budget end of the market and you got what you paid for.
