I think it's safe to say that if you're staying in Fort Stockton, you're most likely passing through or working for the gas/oil companies. So all we wanted was something relatively quiet and clean. It was quiet enough, but the room could have used some work in the cleanliness department. The bathroom just seemed "wiped down", and the tables and dressers had some spots, etc.
The real kicker was the young lady at the check-in who apparently was just counting the hours until her shift was over. She was incredibly short and informal... not rude, just not welcoming in any way whatsoever. Then while checking me in, a pick-up truck pulls in, and out jumps 3 or 4 young men, evidently there to see her. They were polite enough. The kicker was when I (arms full with luggage, my dog, my wife carrying our baby) tried my card, it wasn't programmed. I went back to the lobby and found her sitting on the couch watching a movie with the guys. "Are you sure it didn't work?" she asked. No apology, etc.
I'm from a small town and have nothing against a little "laid back" approach, but we were hoping for a bit more from a newer property that is a little high priced.
One note, if you come into Fort Stockton late, plan on having fast food. Everything seemed to close very early.

Basically if you need to stop or as I did, use it as a stopover between bigger cities, you're fine. If you are expecting decent cellular service or the as-advertised high-speed internet, better pass on this place. I'm probably "over-connected" so it bothered me and I couldn't wait to leave. Also, the tv channel selection was inadequate, not enough to justify the bargain-basement flat-panel tv. Not enough towels, foam pad mattress and the tell-tale foam blanket were enough to get this an okay rating. As I alluded to before, the free wireless internet wasn't even dialup speed - you get what you pay for I suppose.

We had been driving for 27 hours so we just wanted to find a place to stay so we hit Fort Stockton and decided that would be a good stopping point. Days was our third choice, since Hampton and another place were booked solid. The check-in was very friendly and quick. Our room was very clean and looked very presentable, though wi-fi was not available as advertised. The only gross thing was that the bathtub had hair in it from not being properly cleaned prior to our visit (gag) and the towels were faded from numerous washes/uses (they had light blue towels as opposed to the regular white towels most places have) which only makes you think about how often they were used before you got to them! LOL The breakfast left a lot to be desired...though they did have a waffle iron that you can make your own Texas shaped waffles on which was pretty neat...kids loved that! Other than that though, it wasn't all the impressive...just fruit, cold cereal, a toaster for you to put toast in and some cool milk, juices, etc. Nothing fancy. Would stay again if had to, otherwise, wouldn't seek out this place to stay. Room rate was $119 (w/AAA discount) on the road, with tax $134, so a little pricey for what you get.

Wowi! I was really impressed with the rooms. Ours had a huge flat screen tv and updated decor. The beds were comfortable. My only complaint is that the breakfast was all gone by 9am, even though it should have been over by 10am. No one was there to replenish any thing. I saw a few previously frozen scrambled egg patties and a waffle maker. That's it. The outdoor pool looked pretty nice, but it was drained for the season.

We stayed for one night at the Days Inn in Fort Stockton on our way to New Mexico on a family vacation. The room was spotless, with clean and comfortable beds, nice bathroom, and a very nice breakfast in the lobby the next morning. While we were having breakfast, we overheard some other guests commenting on how pleasantly surprised they were at the fine quality of the hotel. Would recommend it to anyone planning a stay in Ft Stockton.... a great value.
